Tonights game

John Barnes sacked after losing to Inverness Caley.

Paul Le Guen left on mutual agreement after losing to caley twice.

Any suggestions welcome.

we probably couldn't afford to pay him/them off even if we wanted to

We haven't won 3 games in a row since September and Walter has spent over £30M since he's been there putting that team together!

don't see why he should be sacked though :fish:

just thought i'd add he only played 4 players out of poisiton tonight not bad for him :brick:

No, what is outrageous is that these players get paid a ton of money and yet you think that they should need to feel loved to perform.

You say that they wont be motivated to perform if they get booed..... yet there is equally as much chance that by not nooing that they will become apathetic to the cause !!

The reality should be that they should have a desire to win the league regardless of the actions of the fans. So if they cant handle booing fans when things dont go their way then they shouldnt be playing the game for the thousands of pounds they get each week.

It is well known and analysed that money itself does not actually generally motivate people. Getting less money than you think you are worth can of course demotivate you - as can not being criticised for how you do your job.

However, appreciation of your work is known to be a good motivator.

No anger, no passion, no fire in the belly. Tired, spent, beaten. You see it in his eyes, his body language, hear it every time he is interviewed.

I think you could say the same about many of the fans - especially on here.

We're 3 points behind, have to play them once more at Ibrox and many have already given up the league.

The only thing you can't accuse some of the fans of not having, is anger. Otherwise no passion, no fire in the belly, tired spent and beaten seams pretty appropriate.

Walter and the players deserve criticism for this kind of performance but giving up the fight and then accusing others of doing so is just plain hypocritical.

We were due a bad result, hopefully it'll hurt the players and get us back on track.

Due a bad result against the bottom placed side in the SPL? That's not a bad result, that's a horrific and embarrassing result!

It's a fair point Cal but while we can try to be positive, it's immediately negated by another poor performance or bizarre decision.

This isn't anything new. As others have pointed out the failures at our club have been evident now for many years.

I don't doubt supporter negativity is a part of that but we're not the ones that can affect change directly or quickly enough. Only the staff can do that. On last night's showing they don't believe they can win the title. It's only natural that is reflected by the fans this morning.

Deserved maybe, but it shouldn't actually happen imo. To me it's shocking to do that when we're on a run in which could swing either way. I would go home pissed off, but had I been there tonight, I can assure you I wouldn't have been booing, I'd have been almost as pissed off with the people booing as I was with the result tbh.

If I fuck up in my job the public and my gaffers can complain to the powers that be. Why can't we do the same to the wasters out there on the pitch?

This is the 2nd time this season we have lost to the team at the bottom of the SPL (0-1 away to St Mirren) and it's not the first time we've had a chance to cement our place at the top of the SPL and failed.

There has also been two telling games that demonstrated that the management don't believe or trust our players to win this SPL title - that was going 4-1-4-1 away to Aberdeen (as a direct result of their performance against Celtc a week earlier where they fluked a 4-2 victory with 4 goals from set-pieces) and Celtc.

I admit that I am a cynical and negative barsteward when it comes to Rangers, but that is bourne out of watching negativity on and off the pitch at Rangers. There is NOTHING to be positive about - even if we win the SPL title, it'll be down to the sheer dross that we are up against, rather than Rangers being anything special. Matters off the pitch are even more worrying.

In the dark days of Greig and Wallace (MKII) there was always a feeling within those fans who stuck by the club (Many fell by the wayside) that there were good times just around the corner. You just don't get that feeling today.

Norris, we've got a good team, but at least half of the players on the park tonight were shite. No excuse for that & it's not the managements fault. These players get payed an f'ing fortune to play for this club & they should earn their bloody money.

We've got a good team? Personally, I think it's average! We've got some good players but when your manager plays people out of position it holds the better players back.

We have shite players too, loads of shite players and I think the manager should be blamed for bringing them to Rangers.

Maybe, just maybe the tactics which the management relay to the players are what's holding us back. Let's face it, the tactics are fuckin' terrible!

Let's not kid anybody on here, why is it when we get a bad result and people complain, quite right IMO, it is called '' a knee jerk reaction'', I think we all see what has been happening for years now, remember we have snatched the SPL on the last day of the season twice in recent seasons, which in itself is fair enough as the season is played over the whole season, but I think if we all know if we hadn't sneaked these titles on the last day the MOPES would be looking at........................NO I REFUSE TO THINK ABOUT THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!, the league is not over, but stop saying it's a knee jerk reaction.
