Cotter 0
He's got to the point where I was questioning whether the article was for real. The "whataboutery" bit was outrageous. Well seen he doesn't live in Glasgow anymore.

Cotter 0
Well he used to be spotted regularly drinking in Tennents on Byres rd. Since he left the Herald for the Times I assumed he moved to London? Seem to remember the Radio Snyde crew making reference to this fact but I could be wrong.
Bluedell 6,069
No, he works for the Times in Scotland. I'm not aware of him moving to London and appears on the RC phone-in once a week.

Norris Cole 0
Ah yes, this'll be the Graham Spiers that even five years ago was describing us with language such as:- ââ?¬Å?Rancid chantingââ?¬Â¦..total embarrassmentââ?¬Â¦Ã¢â?¬Â¦putrid stench.....savages....poisonous singing... ..desecration.....cavemen.....wholesale yobbishness....vile troglodytesââ?¬Â¦..stinking, bigoted, religious stuffââ?¬Â¦Ã¢â?¬Â¦backward cultureââ?¬Â¦..almost to a manââ?¬Â. He must have been spending some quality time with his South American dial-a-rent boy if he didn't hear the IRAoke begin 4mins 30secs into yesterday's match at Motherwell (Boys of the Old Brigade if he's interested:rolleyes:). Incidentally, this "whataboutery" B.O. Bhoy refers to - should that not simply be a pseudonym for unbiased journalism? We've all known for a while now that the corduroyed cowboy is teetering on the edge of sanity, however it was the following couple of paragraphs that had me raising my eyebrows:- "Having enjoyed the excellent grub of the Rangers boardroom in my time, I can now say for certain that the culinary skills of its Celtic counterpart are just as good ââ?¬â?? perhaps even a tad more exotic ââ?¬â?? after an enjoyable experience last Thursday evening. On the eve of Celticââ?¬â?¢s half-year figures, a group of the nationââ?¬â?¢s most eminent hacks ââ?¬â?? thatââ?¬â?¢s meant as a joke ââ?¬â?? were invited to chew and quaff with Peter Lawwell, the Celtic chief executive, and John Reid, the clubââ?¬â?¢s chairman. And, while the conversation was highly intriguing, what a night of juicy fayre it was." what...the...fff:confused: And apparently we "donââ?¬â?¢t really mind a wee drop of racism like The Famine Song". Now, seeing as despite their best efforts the chimps haven't succeeded in having this deemed racist by a court of law, or indeed by anyone other than themselves and their own faux-offended ilk, surely the above statement by Queersie is libel? Having had a lean few years, the man is absolutely desperate for a repeat of his 2006 moment in the sun with UEFA. Let's not beat about the bush, this is the real reason Spiers penned that article:- Ever closer B.O. Bhoy, ever closer...
26th of foot 6,220
Over the years, the Bhoy in Corduroy's obsession with fellow Hacks has been a sequence of passing phases. He obsessed over Hugh Keevins for a few years, utilised his Sporting Diary to boom with pride that Nuremberg Hugh had christened him, "the F****n Baptist". It would be a few short months later, that Graham was demanding the erradication of the word, 'F****n'. Graham felt the vast majority of football supporters could not be trusted with the word. Inadvertently, Graham repayed the Keevins favour, ensuring the soubriquet, 'Nuremberg Hugh' would become commonplace. Once again, Spiers repeated Keevins Press Box outpourings word for word, after a Euro game at Ibrox, the build up over the PA system(three film soundtracks and a Union and Saltire flag being waved) was, "akin to a Nuremberg Rally". The Botanical Truth Fairy's next obsession was Glenn Gibbons of the Scotsman, or 'the Great Gibbo' as Graham preferred. Another BIG, BIG, Sellik man, Gibbons became the subject of Graham's increasingly ornate and flowery prose. Graham was begging the Great Gibbo to do lunch with him, the boozier the better. As we are all aware, Graham extended similar invitations to MON and Neil Lennon(he, of the "rippling muscled thighs") through the auspices of his Sporting Diary. Traynor is an obseesion he has returned to, again and again through the years. Twenty years ago, Traynor held the same designation that Spiers succeeeded to, 'Chief Sports Writer' at the Herald. Traynor regularly went from back page headline to front page with his regular spats with Souness. Traynor left the Herald having been headhunted by first, the Express, then the Record. Of course, Spiers was humiliatingly let go, after a several month period of gardening leave. Traynor was successful, still writes for 400,000 readers; whereas, Spiers writes for 20,000 at the Scottish edition of the Times. The real reason for this article, is over exposure. Once again, Alan Dick spoke to a select few about the contents of his soon to be submitted report. He has done this twice before to Forsyth, Ewen Murray, and Spiers. Their various rags had pieces on Monday morning, the Telegraph, the Guardian, and the Times spat venom. Spiers rushed on to Radio Snyde on Monday evening to reinforce the hatred. Incidently, he is tonight too, wonder if he heard the jolly craicsters at Fir Park yesterday? Alan Dick's role as a SPL Observer has been fully exposed, he is as selective as Spiers, Forsyth, and Murray. Spiers is attempting to drag attention back to the dying embers of a story. Graham's attention will be focused on his last months at the Herald, his tenure at the Times has seen it lose a third of it's readership/circulation. Again, love will lie bleeding in the attic, partcularly after wee Poison Pen Phil Gordon has fisted him and administered facial humiliation.
