CammyF 8,587
Sorry, none of those mentioned above are good enough to enhance Rangers IMO, no matter if they are Jack McGinn's grand-son or not. Cammy F
alexscottislegend 2,412
I realise McGinn is the grandson of a former Celtic chairman, but in my book we cannot be choosers. He clearly has talent and we dont want to go back to the bad old days where Rangers only signed protestants and Celtic got the ALL the Catholic players and because they knew Rangers wouldnt sign any Catholics, they deliberatly targeted the best Protestant players (e.g Kenny Dalglish, Danny McGrain) to antagonise us. So, if we are going to back to those days when we are selecting players because of who they are related to then it could lead to another 9 in a row...for CELTIC. No I wouldn't advocate that, of course not. I wasn't against the Mo Johnston signing as it clearly antagonised THEM. I'm just concerned that if the player wasn't of a similar standard - and McGinn isn't - then the support will hound them out.
Whosthedado 1,738
I'm sorry but I wouldn't wany ANY of these players mentioned. All of them are just run of the mill SPL players. Surely we can do better than that even nowadays. If thats the standard we are looking at I really fear for the future:confused:

AND, is our current management capable of finding better than that? Those players are the ones who stand out everytime we play them. I was just chewing the fat and seeing what we could come up with because if rumours are to be believed then those players may well be all we will be able to get because of the poor financial situation. If it was a choice between some of thos players and the crap we've got currently hanging around Ibrox(i.e Mr Dailly), then i'd go for the players i mentioned everytime!

No, I'd rather promote youth players like Ness, Wilson, Campbell, Wylde etc than sign run-of-the-mill SPL players. Cammy F

Cammy F If the run of the Mill at Hamilton are better or further on than our youth players and good enough to play for Rangers then i i would have no problem with it. As far as i know it is young players we are interested in. I think Fleck has shown that he is not 100% ready yet but will only get ready by being given playing time. we really need to give our youth players more time in games that are won. Although we don't have many of them these days. Of course i would rather be signing better quality but i guess that is out of the question at this moment.

ascender 352
There's no point debating the merits of signing young talent, Scottish or otherwise, if we don't give them a chance in the first team or if we don't have a manager capable of motivating them, nurturing them etc.

Given that Davis and Lafferty are here, it didn't take a genius to put 2 and 2 together. However, I think he might make a decent buy for the left side problem. Our biggest problem now is the right midfield - if we move Davis in, who apart from Novo can play there? Feeney - no thanks. Another Velicka.
