Bounce game result: Rangers 4 : 1 Hamilton

Remember 1-0 Love St.

We already discussed why that was a bullshit arguement. Can't just select the games that prove your point and ignore the others.

For what it's worth, Cousin isn't here anymore, so to talk of the 4-2 game and Boyd's exclusion is a nonsense. No one else provides Cousin's kind of threat in our current squad, so we need to look at a different way of winning the game.

Also Darche was anonymous/useless in the Hibs game so you could just as reasonably argue the result may have been even more convincing had Boyd played instead.

Don't let your hatred of the man get in the way of things though.

I still fail to understand this deep seated hatred of the man. Even Boruc and McGeady would get less grief of some. :(

Save your breathe SA, you can't reason with unreasonable people :rfc:

Not me im afraid, just another fan who see's the real Boyd.

As for Novo, you are wrong here. He got 25 goals upfront with Prso a few seasons ago so thats proof enought for me that he can score goals if he was played upfront.

As for Boyd attracting interest - yeah from McLeish only! The man who took him to Rangers. I didnt see anyone else other than Cardiff show interest yet they are interested in anyone who plays in the SPL.

Novo did score a fair share of goals but he still isnt as consistent as Boyd in the goalscoring charts. Although he scored a lot of goals that season I would agree with S_A in that Novo is the type of striker that if you give him time to think he will screw it up. Give him a split second and he will score.

How many teams were interested in Novo as compared to Boyd ?

Boyd is our most natural finisher, of that there really cant be any doubt. His other attributes ? Debatable. He has a poor first touch and struggles to bring his team-mates into the game - but with both he has been improving this season. The detractors will point to his poor games but there is NOT ONE player this season who hasn't had a run of poor games

Craig, I agree Novo has been inconsistant but i dont think moving him around from RM, LM, Sub to upfront has helped his case. However Novo has a much more consistant record in OF and European matches. He has done the biz in those games and was sucessful in his last full season he played upfront as was the team. I look at the forward line of 2005 and see Prso, Novo, Arveladze and Lovenkrands then look what we have / had this season (Boyd, Miller, Lafferty, Darcheville and Naismith) and cant even begin to see any similarites in quality.

Again il agree with you he is our top scorer but i cant call him a natural finisher or an all round striker. And during the time he was fired up after the Burley thing I saw a different Boyd who was on form and showing a great attitude and scoring good goals - yet it lasted 8 games which isnt good enough and he is back to his lacklusture self again who doesnt offer anything to the team bar thumping a penalty or free kick.

And nice to see you have continued the debate in a mature manner, good man

Ian, I was just glad to see Craig continue it well after a few other comments about people being unreasonable and timposters for having an opinion. :)

Agreed, that is what I was getting @. Also, I have just decided I will NEVER get into another Boyd debate, nothing more to debate IMO :rfc:

Bloody Nora - not another Boyd debate. Hasn't it all been said already?

How can there be such energy for so many arguments about Kris Boyd while almost nothing is said about the talentless turncoat who cost us five times as much and has delivered only a fraction of Boyd's contribution this season alone?

You want someone to argue about, go take a look at Kenny Mhiller.

As for Boyd, well he is what he is and he scores goals. The rest of the proposals against him are academic claptrap. You want a classy, pacy, high energy striker - find someone else we can afford and hope we buy him. You want the best striker we currently have available at the club to score goals - there is only Boyd. Get over it.
