I don't think you will find anyone disagreeing with the fact that he is not a good footballer, but you have to give the guy credit for banging the goals away so consistently, that is not luck, you don't just take to the pitch do nothing and score goals as consistently as he does, that is a skill in it's own and I can think of other Rangers players that I would rather see leaving before Boyd. If Boyd annoys you so much then give up your season ticket

Scoring three against Peterhied, East Stirling, Dunfermline,Hamilton in games we're winning 7 or 8 nil etc don't impress me.

I want a Rangers striker to be scoring in the games where we're only going to win by the only goal, not superflous , luxury goals we don't need.

Why should I give up my S/T?

I've been there a lot longer than Boydud, why don't we just jettison him instead?

You obviously don't like/rate Boyd, that's your opinion which you are entitled to, but it's not the opinion of every Rangers fan.

Regarding your ST,I was merely suggesting that you don't go to watch Rangers if Boyd annoys you so much.

Tell me, do you ever cheer or clap when Boyd scores ?

Where would the goals that Boyd has scored against the so called pish teams we keep beating come from? Where would we be in the league without his goals this season?

He hasn't really had many games against the bigger clubs? to be called a failure in them IMO. I think he deserves his chance against them on Sunday.

If we win on Sunday without him playing or scoring I will be just as happy as if we won with him and he scored the winner. But some fans i'm sure will be waiting to slag him off again if he doesn't score or misses a sitter or even if we won without him. :(

It could be argued that we play better as a team when Boyd isn't playing so the goals may come from places that they don't currently as more movement up front may give the midfielders more opportunities.

It could well be that we do play better (or maybe look like we're trying harder) when he doesn't play but is that just down to him alone

Gribz it was a bit low getting a second username so you could continue your campaign against Boyd.

It infuriates me having to shell out £600 a season to watch a guy who couldn't beat ME in a sprint, couldn't beat ME in a jump, but COULD trap a ball further than I could kick it.

You make an arguement that if Boyd was any good, EPL teams would come to sign him. Stands to reason if the above was true you would be playing for Rangers. Bullshit point no. 1.

90% of Rangers attacks are stopped as soon as the ball reaches this guy, he is in effect the oppositions best defender every week.

9 out of 10 attacks stopped by Boyd. BS. If you're going to post numbers as fact try and back them up. The oppositions best defender every week? I'm sure Dundee United, Aberdeen etc don't think so as he has a good scoring record against nearly every side we play. Bullshit point no. 2.

Both Lafferty AND Novo have already proven to me the are more clinical finisher than 'Give me the ball and I'll bury one out of eight chances' Boyd.

Are you for real? Novo lacks composure and only finishes well when he doesn't have time to think. Lafferty is almost too composed and takes too long over finishing, the chance missed against Dundee United a prime example. Lafferty has not featured enough to be proven a better goalscorer than Boyd. Bullshit point no. 3.

I'd take Stevie Thompson who scored in Europe, scored against the *******s and is scoring against Championship and Premiership teams at the moment before fat arse.

"Fat arse" has scored in Europe. Has scored against the Tims. Was wanted by a team who are a good shout for promotion the the EPL this year and doing better than Thommo's club in the league. Bullshit point no. 4.

I'd put my mortgage on it that had he gone to Birmingham he'd have been back at Killie or Motherwell before a year had passed.

Killie/Well wouldn't be able to afford him or his wages. Ignoring the fact that it is not guarantee he would not succeed in any case. Bullshit point no. 5.

Had he any quality whatsoever, an EPL team with money to burn would have swooped for him in January but the strugglers would all have had a look and realised 'This guy's no use to us'

Only guy in our squad who attracted any interest in January (sorry Mendes aside). So that's a good indicator he's among the best we have and we should be looking to start him in all/most games. Bullshit point no. 6.

Seriously they would pish themselves at the efforts of the guy to play football and his own teams fans would be rioting to get him out the team, and out the door.

Pure conjuecture on your part. Nobody knows how he would fair in the Championship. But seeing as the rest of your points were fanciful bullshit I wouldn't be suprised if you were wrong again.

In another post you said Rangers need a number 9 who scores with regularity. Are you for real? I've never seen so much crap spouted by one person in such a short space of time.

He's a focal point of the team and does have an influence as to how we play.

Another focal point is Weir, and his lack of speed means the defence can't push up as much which restricts the midfield as well, and would have a similar impact on the team's performance.

It's very much a subjective thing and I can't prove it one way or another. I'm not even sure it's a viewpoint I'd hang my hat on. Just raising it as a possibility and a discussion point. ;)

C'mon now SA, don't rise to the bait!!!!

:o

Maybe I shouldn't have. But his views are astounding, frankly illogical and he is denying what he is seeing before his very eyes.

Some people's deep rooted hatred of Boyd, a man with a goalscoring record of almost a goal a start who cost £400k, is something I have trouble understanding. Some so called Rangers fans give Boyd more abuse than they do the *******s.

True BD, but you can also say that these two players are our most consistent players who both do what they are picked to do,Weir is IMO our most consistent defender, and Boyd is our most consistent goal scorer
