Frankie 8,552
Exactly... Surely they weren't confident of a sell-out at these prices?
Guest Dw3132
Exactly... Surely they weren't confident of a sell-out at these prices? Unless they bought into the Beckham/Kaka factor dragging more people out plus the fact we have had no European action this year. Even still £25 for a friendly....and judged by our recent friendlies is over the top.
Super_Ally 0
35k sold apparently. Well done to the loyal fans who've decided to go along, because I couldn't afford it atm (especially with the travel costs involved for me too).
Gribz 846
If 35k tickets are sold then thats a great money maker. Thats 875k in tickets sales alone (going on 25 quid a ticket).
Super_Ally 0
Anyone know Milan's Fee. Seen a few wildly varying estimations. I'm sure we can expect the crowd to grow a bit between now and k.o. too Gribz.
ian1964 10,720
RANGERS star Pedro Mendes joined two lucky Rangers supporters at Murray Park today who will be part of a special 'Guard of Honour' as the teams take to the field before tomorrow's glamour friendly with AC Milan at Ibrox Stadium. Thousands of young fans were entered into an exclusive prize draw to grace the hallowed turf before Walter Smith's side host the Serie A superstars and Jamie Cochran (10) and Kayleigh Peacock Pedro Mendes with Kayleigh Peacock and Jamie Cochran(14) will join 14 other children who have been chosen to rub shoulders with the likes of David Beckham, Kaka and Ronaldinho ahead of the match. In addition, 50 supporters will also be on the pitch as flagbearers while eight supporters who bought their tickets early for the game have the once in a lifetime chance to meet members of Milan's star-studded squad for an exclusive signing session before kick off. Midfielder Pedro Mendes commented: "We are all looking forward to playing against AC Milan. It will be a good test for Rangers to compete against world stars like Kaka, Beckham, Ronaldinho and Maldini and the young supporters I met today will enjoy playing their part on the pitch before the game."
Super_Ally 0
With Smith's loan move to St Mirren falling foul of red-tape I think this is the perfect opportunity to allow him to play with his first team team mates. With many fans already annoyed at this money making exercise I think it would be highly disrespectful to put out a shadow team (though not doing so might potentially be damaging to our season) and I do not expect many changes, at least until half time. However it is an ideal opportunity to give some of the guys who have been well out the picture some game time with the spine of the first XI. Giving Webster, Beasley and one or two other at least a half with your Bougherra's, McGregor's and Mendes' might turn this into a worthwhile exercise, boosting our squad for the rest of the season.
Gazza_8 233
I'd like to see Davis play in central midfield with Aaron taking his place on the right. This is the time to experiment Walter.

Gribz 846
Id start with a stronger team then make a few changes tonight just to give players a run out and get them sharp to play against Forfar on Saturday which allows us to leave some key players out so they are fresh for the OF game. __________________Alexander_________________ Whittaker_____Webster_____Broadfoot______Smith Aaron________Ferguson______Mendes_______Fleck ____________Naismith______Velicka_____________ HT Subs: Edu for Ferguson Davis for Mendes Lafferty for Naismith Boyf for Velicka Beasley for Fleck
