He will undergo a scan to assess the extent of the damage but will definitely miss the Homecoming Scottish Cup third-round tie against St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park next week. Depending on the severity of the injury, the 21-year-old could be absent from a minimum of two weeks to a maximum of six, depending on whether the ligament has been strained, torn or simply bruised.
