rinogattuso 0
RANGERS will discover by noon today whether they stand a chance of prising Nicklas Bendtner from Arsenal on a season-long loan. The 18-year-old striker will discover from Arsene Wenger whether he will feature with the first-team squad for the remainder of their pre-season preparations. If not, Rangers will be given the go-ahead to proceed with a move for the Dane, who finished Arsenal's top goalscorer in the reserves. Ironically, Jeremie Aliadiere could hold the key to Rangers' success. The former Celtic on-loan striker has returned to London in a final attempt to revive his Arsenal career. If he has shown Wenger enough to suggest he can reclaim a place in the first-team squad, the French manager is expected to hand over Bendtner to Le Guen for a year's top-team grooming at Ibrox. Wenger and Le Guen have been in regular contact since the former Lyon manager joined Rangers. He has spent time at the Arsenal training academy and is hoping his relationship can facilitate Bendtner's year-long move to the Bank of Scotland Premierleague. "I have spoken to Niklas and he is expected to find out by noon tomorrow whether he features in the manager's first-team plans," said his father and agent, Thomas. Even though Wenger said farewell to Dennis Bergkamp on Saturday, with the Dutchman's testimonial against Ajax opening the new stadium, he has an abundance of attackers and admits he cannot accommodate them all. "I have bought Tomas Rosicky. We also have Thierry Henry, Jose Reyes, Robin van Persie, Emmanuel Adebayor, Theo Walcott, Niklas Bendtner, Jeremie Aliadiere and Arturo Lupoli. Where do I put them all?" he said recently. Rangers are also considering one final attempt to sign Filip Sebo from Austria Vienna despite the club warning the "file was closed" on their £2m-rated Slovak. Sebo played in the 0-0 draw against Grazer AK and the club's general manager, Marcus Kraetschmer, said Rangers would be wasting their time unless they matched Vienna's valuation. "So far Rangers have been 100% short in their offer," he said. "We have not received any contact since the fax last Tuesday saying the file on Sebo was closed. That might change this week." craig 5,199
I think that article is merely stating that the Arsenal 1st team squad was to be announced at noon...... and Bendtner had said if he wasn't in the 1st team squad then he would rather go elsewhere for 1st team football. Gav, perhaps check the Gooners website and see if he made the 1st team squad ?

Trailio 0
I watched the Bergkamp Testimonial and Bendtner came off the bench for a few minutes in the first half. Too little time to see what he can do but he is quite tall and looked strong. Apparently he played a couple of games for the Arse in last years carling cup

If we assume that they would have a 24 man squad then Bendtner would be one of the ones NOT in the squad IMO.

Gazza_8 233
Arsenal have Henry, RvP, Reyes, Adebayor and Alliadiere who are all ahead of Bendtner. Arsenal have been linked with Saviola too so Wenger is looking to bring in another striker so I can see Bendtner spending another season if not 2 in the reserves.
