It's not that long ago that Charlie Adam contributed 14 goals in one season from midfield. He has also proven that he can perform and score on the European stage.

 

Mystified as how he has gone backwards recently - had the potential to become a very decent player and IMO he still isn't the worst player we have in our squad.

To those who think that Adam may still have something to offer, have you ever watched the guy play? Almost as lazy a player as Oleg Salenko and set plays are attrocious - imo not fit to wear the jersey

It has happened to quite a few of our 'promising' youngsters and it's actually quite worrying that they start brightly enough but don't seem to make any progress.

As Cammy said, he did have a season where he contributed 14 goals, but if i remember correctly, he was played in more central midfield (he doesn't have the pace for out wide). But his free-kick skills seemed to have deserted him - and that at least is mystifying.

True, but his total lack of interest has wasted him for me, you can be a rubbish player and at least try to work for or win back a ball, as has been mentioned, he has had numerous chances to change his ways but not taken them.
