I think it would actually save the clubs a lot of money especially on maintaining the pitch and under-soil heating bills. The fans would be a lot more comfortable and it might encourage larger attendances. It also might make Scottish football more attractive to foreigners without the old "they won't relish a trip to Starks Park (or whatever) on a freezing Wednesday night in January." If we're in the middle of our season when the CL qualifiers start we would have a much better change of qualifying. It may make the later stages more difficult but I think it's obvious that the qualifying itself is the most important aspect by far. Besides it didn't stop Zenit from winning the UEFA Cup and it made it far easier for them to postpone a couple of games before the final. The fact a team from a less than prestigious league that plays summer football won the trophy is a big hint to what we should do - as well as the fact we were put out so early by a far smaller team in the middle of their season when we were playing our first games. 0 Quote Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

I stated them in an article i did a long time ago. Its good to see they are finally thinking about them. Summer football would improve the standard of the game. Kids would get out and play in the summer nights. Plus crowds would improve. The league should be restructed to 2 or possibly 3 divisions or even have regional leagues in the lower tiers. The scottish cup early rounds should also be regional. I heard there were teams who made losses due to travelling then having there games postponed at the last minute. Its like the World Cup qualifiers, you dont see Iceland travelling to Argentina for a qualifiyier. And having 3 bodies should be reduced to 2 unless we go with the regional set up, then that would have to be looked after. 0 Quote Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
