Super_Ally 0
And some would take £2 million for him if a Championship club offered it.
Bluedell 5,614
Have read online that in the 23 games Boyd has started this year we have won 23 times. Can anyone dispute/prove this? It's a simple game, or at least it should be. No, that's not correct.
Bluedell 5,614
Its the same behind me S_A at Ibrox 2 guys go on the whole game moaning about Boyd. I know he's not perfect but as we've said before his scoring record speaks for itself It's horses for courses. Games like yesterday and the St Mirren game are perfect for Boyd, but games away to Celtic and Hibs more mobility/speed is needed.

Totally agree BD and i would go as far to say he would only come off the bench at home to Celtic. I watched Blaise Nkufo for FC Twente during the week and he makes Boyd look like a work-horse. Touched the ball about 5 times in the whole game and doesn't even jump with the defenders to a high ball. But he scores 20+ a season so in the Boyd theory i suppose that is all that counts.
Super_Ally 0
BD is that just a wee joke or do you know it's incorrect? I used to subscribe to the theory that he shouldn't play in certain games. But with the departure of Cousin, whose motivation and commitment(sp) was questionable, and the paucity of options upfront I wouldplay Boyd in all games when fit and on-form and take the negatives of his game with the positives.

Super_Ally 0
Fair do's. Will double check that. Should maybe have done that before taking someone else's word for it and posting this.
craig 5,199
If Boyd keeps improving his overall contribution - yesterday, as it stands, is a one-off (until he shows it on a consistent basis) then I think he DESERVES a chance against the better teams. His hold-up play, linking the midfield, passing (for the most part), aggression and willingness to defend from the front yesterday were very impressive, to the extent that I felt that he actually COULD play the lone striker role. His mobility is not the greatest and he has no pace - but if he can hold the ball up and play the wingers in, then get himself in position for the return ball into the box, then he could be that person to play that role. But you know what ? Why should we go away to ANY SPL team and not play 4-4-2 ? We should be confident of using a 4-4-2 at all times in the SPL and still beating everyone else.
