Wija 0
Got to agree with the sentiments behind it. The attitude of Burley is awful. He gives the sub place to Iwelumo which is laughable. Boyd will score goals, and is tested at International level. The guy is a pr1ck
DJBlue72 0
Think Boyd has done what he had to do How he cant get a game for club and country baffles me ? I fear he will feel the same at Ibrox at the Lack of games and will walk away in January and if he does it will be a total waste of the mans talents as he is a born finsher he does what he is required to do Score Goals what does Smith and Burley want from him ? I would start him everytime for Club and Country , Boyd + A.nother upfront
DJBlue72 0
Also have no confidence in George Burley as National Team manager he comes across as a man with no confidence or clue in what he is doing , we have back to back against Holland now and i fear we are on the Berti Bus to Nowhere under Burley. Unless he produces a miracle and actually gets us to S.Africa i cant see him lasting too long, Souness is the man for Scotland and should have been appointed before Burley.
Zappa 0
Totally agree with you mate. George Burley is lemon, a cretin. In fact those words can't describe what a knob he is. I really can't describe how much I've grown to dislike the guy in such a short space of time. It's not hatred, but if he quit as Scotland manager tomorrow I'd be bloody relieved. We played pish in Macedonia & got beat, but Burley says he was really happy with the performance. Reckon we were lucky to scrape the 3 points against Iceland, because again we were shite. Then after only getting a point against Norway at home simply because Norway were unlucky not to score, Burley has the nerve to say it was a good performance? What? Looks like he's got the players believing that their performances have been good enough as well, since according to Scotty Broon we should all as a nation be proud of them. Righty ho.
Leppardized2001 0
As of end of September 2008, Kris Boyd - Caps 14, Goals 7 Kenny Miller - Caps 40, Goals 11 James McFadden - Caps 41, Goals 13 Garry O'Connor - Caps 15, Goals 4 A goal every other game for Scotland, and most of those 14 appearances from the bench. Hmmmm who to bring on to get you goals...it's a toughie. George it's over to you. I know, we'll go for an untried 30 year old journeyman. OOOOOOOOO wrong answer!!!! NOOOO!!!!!

I mean having Graham Alexander and David Weir still in there at their age. Please no!!! And having Iwelumo and Jamie McAllister in there at the age of 30 for first time. NOOOO!!!!! Aye and is it just me, or was Burley sharp enough to point out/insinuate straight away that it was a bad time for Boyd to quit the squad since it's such an important campaign? So why has Rangers & Scotland's best goal scorer only played 28 mins out of 540 mins then George? Georges reply - "Well it's quite simple really. I'm a poor manager that doesn't really know what he's doing & despite that fact that we all want to qualify for the World Cup, I'm doing my best to see that we don't". Just watch, while Burley, the mhedia & the tartan army turn round & blame Boyd through insinuations & snide remarks when we don't make it to Africa. You heard it here first.
Frankie 8,552
Really don't know what to think. Can understand Boyd's frustration but chucking the toys out of the pram doesn't really help his case. More to it somehow I think.
calscot 0
I agree with you Frankie, although after seeing what a donkey Iwelumo is I'm not surprised he's angry. That was a worse miss than Van Vossen, and certainly the miss of the decade. But it always sounds a bit childish when professional men refuse to turn up because they don't get picked in the first few games. However, I too am totally losing any faith in Burley's ability - he seems to have the same Ostrich habits as PLG. Big Eck should have stuck it out till the world cup as he had the makings of a fighting team. Instead he's effectively chosen the championship and possibly career suicide - which is really hard to fathom.
bluedan 93
Burley is a total sack. All the good work Walter and Eck did has now gone down the tubes. Mcfadden aint the same and he's brought in players i've never heard of. Watching that game in a Melbourne bar i couldn't believe for 1 he took off Mc faddenator and put on Whats his face? Boydy,on yoursel son, Burley your a disgrace, the way you conduct your buisness is terrible and it won't be long before more follow. Watch this space...
ian1964 10,720
Will he be quitting Rangers now as well because WS doesn't play him ?. Also, if Iwelumo had scored that chance and Scotland had won, would the manager have been correct in his team selection ?.
