Guest ackbar
You are talking about a song that is not sung at games. That is the bottom line. I'll repeat that we can't get criticised for what we don't sing. What is sung at games does not trivialise the death of millions, no matter how much celtic fans want to believe it does. They play their songs about the famine over the tannoy, and the chant is a reaction to that amongst other things. The song still has the line "the famines over why dont you go home" that is a line that trivialises the death of millions is it not????
Guest ackbar
We did. What difference has it made? We havent finshed yet mate, not by a long shot. We are in the process of getting our house in order but it is far from clear yet

Bluedell 5,614
If I felt it did then we wouldn't be having this discussion. If people want to pretend to be Irish and sing about the famine, then that chant seems a reasonable response. I just don't see any way that it trivialises anything.
Guest ackbar
Maybe because it uses the death and suffering of many people to get a cheap dig at our rivals who choose rightly or wrongly to draw lineage to Ireland. The very fact that many of our fans would also have lost ancestors makes it even more repulsive and stupid. Still you keep singing it if you feel justified in doing so. I for one will not. It deserves to be filed in the same bin as BJK and the BB.
Guest ackbar
Ps why does people choosing to be Irish need a response from us?
