juffery 0 Posted September 6, 2008 Share Posted September 6, 2008 It is a poor squad, but can't think of too many that are missing who would start - Ferguson and Hutton probably and that's it. I think Fletcher should have been in the squad, he did very well for the under-21's the other night. I think Macedonia will control the game and we'll have to look to be strong at the back and hit them on the counter attack - the problem being, there isn't a huge amount of pace. Remember it's a 2pm kick off live on Setanta or any pub ! We were on the up last campaign but this squad reminds me of Vogts times. For me, its really tough between Gordon and McGregor, Gordon is our No.1 but Mcgregor last season should have taken over. But both are about same at moment and Gordon should probably keep him place. I got to look at BBC text to get scores Burleys reign has started poorly..no wins from 3 in friendlies then this start. Macedonia arent a push over but the way we played under WS we would have went there and probably been favourties. I dont get anything on tv here when its on the joke of BBC It's on Setanta. Not that you're missing anything! We've been very poor, sluggish and pedestrian. Macedonia don't actually look very good, but Brown, Caldwell and McManus have been awful. Robson looked good, McFadden and Miller have had no service at all, Fletcher might not be playing, I'm not sure and the full-backs have been pegged back nearly the whole half.
