couldnt handle the fame, much in the way that gascoigne couldnt. ended up in a cafe in sunderland standing on a table with his cock out pissing infront of the customers proclaiming "do you know who i am".

Rangers got rid of him as he wasnt fitting in to the Rangers standard off the park.

He may have been Rangers class on the park, but not off it. And in those days you really had to adhere to the Rangers way of life.

We had a discusion a few months ago about what rangers class really meant. Baxter is a good example off what wasnt, no matter how good a player he was.

I think he even died an alchoholics death did he not?

I saw him playing for Hull after he left Rangers. My dad took me while we were on holiday. Another Genius who couldn't get his private life in line.

With players that have done that type of thing over the years, I'm not convinced that they couldn't handle the fame as much as couldn't handle the drink & drugs. It would certainly seem like these types of characters simply haven't had the will power & strength of character to go out partying & not drink too much or say no to certain other substances. There could have been occasions where players drinks were spiked, but that's giving them the benefit of the doubt when they might not actually deserve it.

They would have to have spiked Baxter's for about 50 years. Baxter was the Scottish George Best, loved drink more than his talent.

Sounds about right Pete, but how many people who are drinkers do you know that end up "standing on a table with his cock out pissing infront of the customers proclaiming "do you know who i am"." ?

Liked the boobs.gif, and Chip-poker.gifChip-poker.gif.

BD, I fail to see how you answered the OP's question. He wanted to know what Baxter's FLAW is - far as I can see, all those items posted above are certainly NOT flaws.....

Gambling is a flaw for me.Totally against it. I wouldn't put one cent in a fruit machine.
