craig 5,199
I think it depends on where he plays. Good CM but nowhere near as effective when played wide right.
alanmidd 0
After the way Mendes played on saturday, I can't see davis playing CM. Hasn't played much so maybe he'll be a sub on Saturday

Your right mate , best played as an attacking midfielder we have quite a few options in this dept now, which is a change.
fraser54 0
I think we may be looking at a 4-3-3 formation now Mendes, Davis, Thomson in midfield With Boyd/Velicka up front, then any 2 of Aaron, Lafferty, Novo, Miller playing off the main man
Gribz 846
Would go with Mendes, Thomson and Davis to start at Pittodrie on Saturday then unleish young Aaron at some point or even start him on the left of a forward 3. Has Edu's work permit gone through? Watch McCulloch and Boyd start again this weekend though
juffery 0
Edu's permit decision is tomorrow. Thoght Davis did pretty well last night, playing in centre mid. Used correctly, he'll be a good signing.
Gers4Life 0
At last i was at fear of this deal collapsing after all the problems with fulham, another great addition to our midfield! now walter just has to choose the correct balance and im 100% sure that we will be celebrating title no 52, bring it on. !!!

Has Edu's work permit gone through? Watch McCulloch and Boyd start again this weekend though Miller - Crap. Watch last night. Cousin - Attitude problem. For all that he should be good, rarely produces it. Darche - Injury prone, lacks composure when it matters. Novo - Could and should play wide right or up top. Lafferty - Likely Injured. Velicka - Looks like he could be useful. Needs to up performance level though. Boyd - Struggled last week but our best goalscorer and with a decent midifled behind him is bound to start banging the goals in again. We all know what is problems are, but at least he appears to be working on them. Frankly though, the rest of our forward line is pretty crap and all have their obvious faults too. Until we have the money to bring in someone better, it's a no brainer that he should start.

I would play Novo wide right aswell if its 4-3-3/4-5-1 but id also give him a run through the middle in a 4-4-2. We need pacey players against Aberdeen on Saturday, if we get that then we could give them a dooing. The options are great though and choosing a XI is getting difficult.
