Czech Republic defender Marek Suchy claims Rangers have shown an interest in signing him from Slavia Prague.

The promising centre-half has been linked with a £2.5million move to Ibrox after impressing for Slavia in the past couple of seasons.

Suchy is keen to play in a foreign league and is now waiting to see if Rangers manager Walter Smith comes in with a bid.

"I know nothing specific," Suchy, who has previously been linked with Everton, told deniksport.cz.

"I don't know the details, on the other hand I will not act like I know nothing at all.

"My agent Pavel Vandas told me how things were and that Rangers are interested. But we have to wait and see how it will turn out.

"I must say that I am tempted to play in a foreign league. I would like to taste football elsewhere.

"If it works out, I would be happy to go to Scotland.

"If I stay at Slavia, though, I will not be angry because I like it here and we still have a lot to play for, and I believe it will be a good season again."

Certainly sounds like an interesting signing given the quality of the teams also apparently previously interested.
