CammyF 7,992
Sorry but I think thats all utter nonsense Im afraid. BUT im sick to death of arguing the point as there are also those blinded by their opinion that he is pish! Don't think that I have ever claimed that Boyd is 'pish', but he is not a great player either - he can't be mentioned in the same breath as past greats like Colin Stein, Derek Parlane, Derek Johnstone, Gordon Smith, Ally McCoist, Mark Hateley, Rod Wallace etc. In fact, he'd be behind players like Drinkell, Negri, JJ, MoJo, Darche, Prso et al Cammy F
Jon 0
We'll have to agree to disagree again then as a couple of the players you mentiond he'd still be behind is nonsense IMO

BUT im sick to death of arguing the point as there are also those blinded by their opinion that he is pish! a striker scoring 25 goals being a bit part player is pish m8 c'mon.....not only that it is partly his fault for the goals we've conceded as well as he doesn't chase players once he loses the ball! Do we not have 9 other outfield players to help him then, or is it all his fault for anything as you said it's getting boring the stick he alone takes on here for again being the top scorer and helping us get our first silverware for a few years, obviously not enough for some.
Jon 0
Out of interest, what would you say if WS does keep him and he stays for the next 4 or 5 years and each season is still the clubs top scorer?

Agree 100% Johnny. There are people on here who will only ever slag him off, no matter how many goals he scores or however his game improves....:admin:

If his overall game didn't improve, I'd be saying the same as I am now.... What would you say if Boyd was sold to Cardiff, spent most of the time on their bench and seen out his career in the 2nd or 3rd tier of English football? Would you still claim he is a great player? I make no apologies for saying that Boyd isn't and doesn't look like developing into a 'great player'. He is a dencent, run of the mill SPL centre forward - nothing more, nothing less. There are 100's of better players out there and 100's of worse players. Cammy F

Cammy F that's your opinion m8, for me a striker should be judged firstly on goals and he is the best we have and have had for a while.....

Even if his 'goals' aren't enough to win us the league? I'd prefer to have a player scoring less goals that won us games than a player who'll score for fun when we are winning but can't get us the important goals that turn 1 point into 3. Serious question, if Celtc win the league for the next 4-5 seasons (GOD FORBID) and Boyd was to score say 30 goals each season, would you still be happy? Second best isn't an option for Rangers and currently we don't have the players to make us champions, that has to change. Cammy F
