Kyle Lafferty Signs for Rangers

Recommended Posts

still can't understand why people want to get rid of the most natural scorer we have at the club and have had for quite some time.

At the same time he is also the most natural fluffer we have. :moon: :D

Said the same thing an got slagged for it loads mate

he virtually won us the 2 cups and had a great goals to games ratio as well. just because he doesn't run himself into the ground like other players some fans don't like him. He is improving his game and hopefully will much more.

he gets slagged off for not scoring in the big games or against the big clubs, if he doesn't play in them how is he ever going to do that??

Maybe, but his style of play still makes it look like we are playing games with 10 men.

I still cant see how anyone can compare McCoist to Boyd for 2 reasons.

1) McCoist was a class striker and pre leg break did a lot more then just be a poacher.

2) McCoist played in a system that was made for that type of striker. To be fair on Boyd he hasnt played with a Hateley type player to allow him to be a poacher.

all i said was to me he is the most natural goal scorer we have had since ally and ally also missed quite a few chances in games but always scored. ally was playing in a better team than boyd, he got more chances and got better as he got older IMO.

boyd didn't play many games last season but still finished our top scorer doesn't that say anything?

he has also scored from outside the box such as free kicks which says to me he is not just a poacher. he needs to work on his first touch and holding the ball and bringing others into play of course he does and think he will know that as well and with ally teaching and telling him maybe he will.

if we played to his strengths then he could be the difference next season IMO.

i don't think he will ever get to mccoist's record or be as good as mccoist but unless we play him and to his strengths then we will never know.....

I'm with Gribz on this one. A striker as Boyd was great 10-20 years ago when it took 10 minutes to get the ball from one end of the park to the other. These days the game is so fast that a striker who can't hold a ball up can be as much a liability as a bad defender. If the midfield know a striker is ball fast they will be willing to make forward runs. If i gave Boyd the ball there would always be a doubt in my mind that he will lose it and i would be caught out of position.

What is the point of scoring 25 goals a season if you are putting your defence and midfield under pressure by not holding on to the ball.

I voted that i wanted Boyd to stay but he would only be coming off the bench if i was manager. Maybe the next poll should be Boyd in starting line up, Boyd off the bench or Boyd out the door. If he wants to stay coming off the bench then that would be great for me. he does earn his money scoring important goals.

To think some people who prefer Lafferty to Boyd..!!

its madness

As far as i have read on here there is few who even know how Lafferty plays so i guess your remark is aimed at Walter.
