pete 2,499
A few problems with Barry playing deep. He can't tackle. He won't back-track at speed he just jogs back, he lets players walk away from him and he takes the ball off the centre-backs toes. Time to replace him altogether. Get some money for him while we can. One good season in six is not good enough. There are better players out there.

johnnyk 158
RANGERS' move to sign former Hearts striker Andrius Velicka will beat FIFA red tape - by a day. Rules state a player cannot feature for three different teams in a 12-month period but the Lithuanian's deal will comply. Velicka played with the Jambos last term before signing for Norwegian side Viking in February. FIFA regulations for last season stated a player could only feature for two clubs between July 1, 2007 and June 30 this year. If Rangers agree a fee of around £1million and settle personal terms Velicka will be registered at Ibrox after July 1 - making him exempt from the FIFA red tape that blocked Daniel Cousin's move from Ibrox to Fulham in January.

johnnyk 158
RANGERS have targeted £1.75 million-rated Sporting Lisbon striker Milan Purovic for a shock move to Ibrox. And towering hitman Purovic is ready to snub clubs in Turkey and Germany to link up with the Light Blues. Walter Smith is in the market for a powerful centre-forward to beef up the Rangers attack and has turned his attentions to the 6ft 4 in Monetnegrin international. Burnley's £ 4million-rated Kyle Lafferty is proving an expensive option and a swoop for Viking Stavanger's Andrius Velicka is not signed and sealed. Even if the deal to land former Hearts man Velicka can be concluded there is still room for Purovic with Daniel Cousin and Jean Claude Darcheville likely to head for the Ibrox exit and doubts remaining over Kris Boyd's future. Sporting Lisbon are ready to sell the 23-year-old Purovic fter he failed to settle in the Portuguese capital following a move from Red Star Begrade. http://www.dailyexpress.co.uk/posts/view/48107

johnnyk 158
EVERTON have joined West Brom in the chase for Rangers midfielder Kevin Thomson. Record Sport revealed last week Baggies boss Tony Mowbray has set aside £4 million of his new Premiership budget and plans to test the resolve of the Ibrox club to hold on to a player who cost them just £2m when they signed him from Hibs 18 months ago. But now Goodison manager David Moyes has also declared his interest in Thomson as he scours Euro 2008 in search of an entirely new midfield for next season. Moyes - who is bracing himself for a big-money bid from Sevilla for his star man Mikel Arteta - wants to bring in at least four new players for Everton's engine room before the big kick-off at the end of next month and Thomson's name is high on his wanted list. Both Moyes and Mowbray are now set to weigh in with offers but they are likely to encounter strong resistance from Ibrox boss Walter Smith, who sees Thomson as a central part of his long-term plans. However, Smith is working on a shoestring budget of his own this summer and - with little more than £6m available to him - he could be faced with a very difficult decision if a big bid comes in. Kenny Miller should finally complete his £1.9m move from Derby today. Negotiations had stalled between the player's agent and Rangers chief executive Martin Bain but both parties were close to reaching agreement on a deal last night. And it seems certain the deal will go through today before Miller flies to the USA on holiday.
