Summer 2008 Transfer Rumours Thread

Recommended Posts

Still ridiculously cheap considering the 17 yr old Aaron Ramsay for £5m.

Best thing for us is to keep hold of Boyd at all costs. But then My thoughts on Boyd are as well known as Gribz's view on Buffel ;)

Aye and the clubs trying to get hold of Buffel arent exactly huge - but still bigger than those after Boyd :)

LMFAO

Seems to be about right. How many moves has he turned down now? I think one was due to injury another cos he didnt want to move.....a case of a lazy arsed player with skill.....but happy to sit an take the money.

I dont see too many teams up for Fluffer..i mean Boyd. If he was that good then Man U, Arsenal and chelsea would take him but they probably havent heard of him. Wigan arent even after him :fish:

Sorry but Boyd is pish and will always remain pish. Buffel has more talent in his left shoe than Boyd - just a shame we never saw it!

Beer time :drink:

He was given enough chances to show it. The big difference in my eyes was that Boyd was very much a bit part player, mainly coming off the bench last season. Yet he still finished top scorer and basically won us 2 cups.

No doubting Buffel has the skill and talent but what use is that if he hardly ever shows it and disappears in games, Boyd maybe quiet at times (i do think his overall game has improved though) BUT you still think he may get a goal from somewhere!

I dont buy this nonsense about Boyd winning us 2 cups! He merely saved us in 1 cup and we should be destroying Queen of the South with our youth team in the other!

Him scoring against these teams plus in the SFA cup games against Partick etc is his level - he will never be a player in the big games!.

I cant believe we have turned down 2.5 million for him - id bite the hand off. We will get goals from other soarces

again gribz buffel had more than enough chances, and as before played well in a handful of them, is that good enough for you?? i still can't find enough good games from him to send you a dvd........he has talent yes loads but simply not suited to scottish football and is one shitebag to say the least.........

you slag off boyd first saying he was top scorer in his first 2 seasons but we didn't win a thing then when he virtually wins 2 cups on his own this season he gets no credit but he's just simply pish.....i respect some of your posts but to call our top scorer for the last 3 season pish is one of the worst things i've heard!!!

Lets seperate the Boyd and Buffel thing for starters mate, i agree we havent always seen the best of Buffel. But when he has shown it (against Porto and Celtic in 2005/06) he was a better class. But lets forget him.

I'll give you Boyd has scored goals, i rate him as a poacher, but we just cant play him in the system we play - WS sees that aswell as a lot of Gers fans. And im not the only one who says he is a rotten player so Im not coming from mad territory. Fact is - its a team game first and foremost!

It's now a FACT that Boyd is a more valuable player. We've had an offer for 2.5M while we can't even give Buffel away. That pretty much shows the former is pretty valuable while the latter is truly worthless.

The reason we can't get shot of Buffel is that we were silly enough to pay him far more than he's worth and even without appearances money and bonuses, he's obviously earning far more at Rangers than any other club in the world is willing to pay him.

The Belgian obviously has no ambition, character or fight in him at all. He prefers to sit around and take the money instead of either getting his arse in gear and impressing the management to fight his way back into the team, or take a pay cut and show what he can do elsewhere and maybe make the big time again when he get's noticed.

There is something very weak about a person like that and I don't know how anyone can respect. He may have talent, who knows? It's difficult to say when a guy won't get off his arse and show you what he can do.

I would almost put Buffel in the same catogory as Prodan as a waste of money. He's been injured either physically or what looks like mentally for most of his time at Rangers - and he's been at Ibrox far, far too long. I think Rangers should use one more week of his wages to throw a big party when goes to celebrate.

As for Boyd, he has his weak points but has shown he is still a valuable player to have around, and he scores just about enough goals to justify his presence at a ground like Ibrox.

So I agree that there is no comparison between the two, Boyd is by no means perfect and I'm not really one of his fans but he's world class compared to Buffel.

A Ferrari that never starts is useless compared to a working, if not completely reliable Alpha Romeo.

However, I doubt that Buffel can be compared to the Italian super car.
