Vassaras has handed out 38 yellow cards and issued three red cards in six matches this season - five in the Champions League and one in the Euro 2008 qualifying campaign. The experienced official booked 10 players and sent off Pepe as Roma defeated Real Madrid 2-1 in the Bernebeu in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
