I'm preparing to take cover here, but this season has shown the the Blessed St Martin of O'neill is actually a very good manager. An annoying twat, but a very good manager.

Maybe, maybe not.

David O'Leary, not highly rated, took over after they'd finished 16th and immediately took them to 6th, before subsequenly slipping up again. Should've been in Europe but for the ridiculous decision to have Millwall in as Cup runners up.

All the extra money from Randy Lerner helsp too compared to the lack of funds releases by Deadly Doug.

Of course the money helps, but how many people thought he was mad spending big bucks on Ashley Young? John Carew was a player meandering about going nowhere until O'Neill took over. I like the way he sets his team out - he maybe doesn't always get the results, but teams have to beat his team rather than him altering to combat his opponent.
