I read a story in the Daily Mail a few weeks ago which made me laugh (well, want to go mad actually), various players were remarking about wages at Chelsea.

Andy Townsend (bless him, I did feel sorry), played for Chelsea in the early 90s, was seeking some sort of sympathy when he said 'back in them days' the top pros' were only on £3000 a week. He was being serious.

Thats where some footballers can be naive, and i cant stand the way they all say you dont really understand things in the game unless you have played - bullshit. They use that as an excuse towards ref's.

Have to say I like Andy Townsend though, im a fan of his weekend talksport show.

Who can remember Stevie G's sad little face on the news a couple of years ago as he left the Liverfool training ground during transfer talks? "Thees 'as beeen the 'ardeest day ooov me life". Refering to contract negotiations in the region of £100k a week. Oh the heart ache, poor boy.
