Another record broken today

You’re not seriously suggesting when they’re spending £30m and we’re spending a fraction of that we should expect to finish above them? Until our finances change or we somehow unearth better players from somewhere at low cost then second is about as good as we’ll get at the moment.

I don’t particularly like that but that’s how things are at the moment

Our net spend was far higher than theirs.

They have been selling players for relatively big money.

We sold 5 and loaned out 4 for 810,000.

It was so low because we had to payoff players to leave. This will apply to a fair few this summer as well.

And why not, as we've found out to our cost (sic) the price of a player doesn't necessarily mean quality.

It's about spending what we have wisely (£4.5M on Cortes) and having them coached properly, their fitness improved and playing a style of football that will break teams down.

We have beaten Celtic twice this season so if we'd matched their record against the "rest" we'd be battling for a championship.

Of course the more you pay for a player doesn’t guarantee anything but our recent record of looking around for bargain basement signing & OOC’s has bombed spectacularly too often e.g proper, Souttar, Lawrence etc

beating Celtic twice means nothing if we’re 17 points behind them

It is, its what Celtic do. Tell me, how successful have they been over the last 14 seasons compared to us?

Your looking at this the wrong way. Off course beating Celtic twice means nothing if we can't beat St Mirren. However, if we can beat Celtic, why can't we beat St Mirren?

We've also managed to finish top 8 in EL this season, so how can we achieve that, yet lose to Queens Park.

The obvious answer is we don't play a style that opens teams up unless they attack us - and that's down to fitness and coaching.

Unless someone can tell me another reason?

Clement shaved the same amount off the wage bill that he spent, so did he really get a net spend at all. I don't think so.

No one can tell you anything.

You have all the answers.

We bow to the simplicity of genius.
