Which years would any of you say are the "glory years", and which years would any of you say we were "properly run", and finally do the two line up?

Spot on. The only time we succeeded anywhere near within our means in my lifetime was around big McLeish's time, in terms of player budget.

We came out of 9IAR with no net debt and cash in the bank. It was only after 1997 that the spending went crazy.

Up until around 1965.

Anything after that can be accurately described as bad.

Even when successful, after 1965, the un-Struthian nature of it all turns the stomach.

I know this is going to be a strange one but I would say as of recently was the leading up to  the 2010/2011 season before we went into administration in terms of winning stuff and being financially stable, we won the Scottish cups 07/08 08/09 10/11  PL 07/08 08/09 10/11 sure in 2012 we went into administration due to unsustainable spending or whatever but the years preceding saw higher revenues be it fans support, Champions league money.
