Rangers board make another balls up

Recommended Posts

If someone at the club was told that Andy Smillie had arranged for a charity to lay a wreath, and by the way, could they be allowed into the stadium for a quick photo, are we really going to turn round and insist on a list of people attending and then google who they are, when AS has asked for it and it's for charity?

I can't really see what anyone has done wrong other than AS perhaps being a bit too trusting, but even then it's for charity.

If the fans are expecting the directors to sit down and vet everyone who enters Ibrox then no wonder the club is so badly run.

I never said directors. If the toilets aren’t clean I don’t expect the directors to clean them. I do however expect them to create the correct structure to ensure the toilets are clean.

Ask yourself if you think the same thing would have happened across the city with someone involved in a pro union death cult getting photos taken with Tom Boyd’s stupid face. You know it wouldn’t.

The post you replied to was about the directors, and the title of the thread is blaming them as well (hence my question).

From Stan Gordon's post, I just don't see what the club could have done under these specific circumstances. Yes, we want to lash out and blame someone, but do we really want to be the club that vets every single person that does charity work and a major contributor asks for access to the stadium (which I presume was what happened)?

Are you really saying that we should measure ourselves by their standards?

I tried to walk into the stadium today and was refused entry.

.... maybe you did not seem trustworthy?

Anyway, not everyone is as clued-up as some Bluenoses about the pedigree of this or that person who they meet at social events and, what was it, DeterMND activities?

Dont expect directors to vet anyone, but I think the club should have some governance around who gets PR and pictures with club ambassadors inside Ibrox.

In a way we were lucky it was some Irish Republican that sneaked in, could you image the self loathing many support would have for themselves if it was a unionist equivalent? The daily record would have a field day.

The everyone anyone loyal would be queuing up at the doors to have a pop at our dyed in the wool blue nose custodians.

I don't know why fans should get upset about an IRA/Sinn Fein man in Ibrox that war is over the gubs won  the day Tony Blair's government surrendered by  signing up to the good Friday document in doing so giving mass murderers on both sides of the divide  exemption  for all crimes committed

Do you really not know? Or are you just trying to take some sort of position on the fence that ach it's all fine now?

Because I'm sure the countless Rangers supporters from Northern Ireland, that actually lost people in the Troubles, would argue that latter point.

Especially those that have to see the terrorist scum bastards that were involved in their loved one's deaths parading about as some sort of politician that just wants to do good.

I don't care how reformed they preach to be, they stood once, masked up with their banners and guns.

Someone earlier in this thread said should Rangers really turn down an MP, if they approached the club directly etc about whatever charity thing they were doing, just because we don't like that party or ideology?

Absofuckinglutely.

Where you drawing the line? Letting Hamas fundraisers happen?
