Sick of this squad

Recommended Posts

This squad of players only care about themselves and the bigger games where they can put themselves in the window or create some buzz for their careers.

The only games the players get themselves up for are European games and celtic games, everything else seems to be below them/not worth their time.

And I'm utterly fed up of it all, fuck the lot of these loser bastards that don't think the run of the mill games mean anything, allowing us to lose more and more long standing records or pride. Fall even further behind,  I don't think I can bring myself to watch their half arsed performances anymore.

I'm literally sitting here waiting on the takeover at this point. That's the only light at the end of the tunnel I can see.

You could argue that it was broadly the same with the previous squad and the one before that.

If people think that all will suddenly be wonderful post takeover then they are of a very optimistic nature.

If you argue that, my argument would be I'll point you to a mainstay of all those squads and where the loser mentality has came from - James Tavernier.

Gut the rot. There will be wonderful changes 👍🏻

It all needs to go.

I agree on both counts, but I've been becoming more and more concerned about your second point. I'm also getting annoyed at the constant desire for a rebuild without seeing out the last.

I'm actually quite optimistic about the core of the young squad we have. I've been saying for a while that the next step is building on that with first-team quality.

We don't need to seeout the last "rebuild"

Nils Koppen couldn't build IKEA furniture.

We've overpaid for average/below par footballers, even taken some of them on tick like Diomande, further hemorrhaging money on crap.

This cycle, it needs to end, and the cycle of James Tavernier as Rangers captain/player certainly needs to end. I'd at most, be keeping two players from this entire squad, and it's Raskin and Igamane.

I wouldn't argue with the 'overpaid' label, but I don't think it's been bad. We've overpaid for potential, which is better than overpaying for players in their 'peak' like Dessers, Lammers, Dowell and Danilo we saw under Beale. Igamane, Diomande, Barron, Jefte, Kasanwirjo, etc., are good players with a lot of potential. (I also think Cortes is a good player at only 20, but I'd really like to get out of that deal as he just can't get fit.)

I don't subscribe to the idea that Tavernier is the cause of all our problems.

This is the start of a new cycle.

We've been front loading warchests for about 3 decades.

This is the start of a new cycle.

A new cycle cannot include James Tavernier, how many managers has he seen the back of? He cannot be allowed to continue seeping his mentality into every Rangers squad since the Championship and Mark Warburton!

I don't care about his personal stats or achievements either before anyone starts, I care about Rangers' achievements and in his time here, how many trophies have we won? How many runners up has he over seen?

Igamane will make us money, so will Raskin if he keeps getting selected for Belgium.

Kasa, Barron, Diomande, hot and cold, mostly cold, though with Kasa we've not seen much and that doesn't bode well if he can't work his way into this side. I've written Cortes off tbh.

So I stick by, there's two players I'd keep, Raskin and Igamane. Fire sale everything else.

The new owners, ST money and the aforementioned fire sale 😁 strap in 👍🏻

4/5 of the right type of signings (guys that suit SPFL and beat the low block) makes the world of difference to this team IMO. Its painfully slow, weak and lacks aggression. Has done since the Seville season finished.
