If a manager is not doing his job - as in the case of PC - then he should be moved on.

I still say that sacking Clement before the end of the season was a bad call, look where it has got us. Anyone who thinks we are performing better now is bananas. Jefte looks like half the player he was, Nsiala has, as others have said been treated poorly. Young guys make mistakes. Igamane's best football was under Clement, as was Dessers. But the daftest things are not dropping Butland and not playing forward thinking midfielders. If we had another manager ready to go fair enough, but bringing in Bazza & co for a few months was crazy.

I agree. He should have been let go at the end of the season.

I see a rebuild as being the remit of the DoF - or Koppen in our case, until we fill the DoF position - a level above the manager.

If a manager is not doing his job - as in the case of PC - then he should be moved on.

That shouldn't disrupt the rebuild.

I saw this season as the first phase of a rebuild in the sense we were clearing the deadwood. I understand the downsizing criticism, but it could be argued that was needed in any case. We now need to sign first team quality and let the young core develop.

A club like ours should constantly be rebuilding / freshening / improving the team / squad.

That's the ideal, I agree.

We've not had a proper DoF model to really implement that, frustratingly.

The majority of our support have no stomach for a rebuild, it has to be a quick hit, or nothing.

Not true - see SG era.

And as said above, a club like Rangers should be in a constant state of rebuilding.

Wouldn't say constantly rebuilding, but constantly strengthening certainly.

I.e with the Gerrard era, when we won the league, we should've strengthened, but the board gambled, and much of that gamble lost us our manager that year by not backing him, effectively.

We need to be constantly looking for the next best thing.

What was all the stuff about SDM? Came as  a bit of shock to most I think when everything began to unravel

It did, but there were a few fans writing in fanzines (Follow Follow and No1) and on forums (Follow Follow and even here on Gersnet) warning of the impending unravelling.

Those who dared question Sir Duped or show any criticism towards him were attacked, lambasted, "shouted down" by fellow fans (no coincidence the same happened when some started questioning the current incumbents).

When fans started to show their displeasure against SDM at games, they had flags / posters ripped from them by fellow "fans".

When a small band of fans protested outside the main doors, they were spat on, verbally abused and chased by fellow "fans". Then SDM praised the "attackers" on Rangers publications even though they were singing the recently banned Billy Boys as they chased the protesters.

I sometimes wonder (for a few seconds) where those fans are now and how they feel given how it all played out.

This subject took over my life for a while, attempting through Fanzines and other platforms to change fans minds.

If you want to bore yourself to death, plug Cammy F Rants into the Gersnet search engine and you'll find some of the stuff.

I wish I was wrong about SDM and I wish I was wrong about the current incumbents, but sadly I (and others) were spot on.

Well, to get back to the match thread, that is as bad as it gets.  It was as cold as it is in December or January in the main stand  and those clowns serve that up.  I am done with the team and with the interim management team.
