I reckon they will have a shortlist, including Director of Football etc. Don't imagine much being left the way it is, although I think they will have an eye on BF, if he gets us through Bilbao, he'd need to be a contender tbh. I'm anticipating us being much better run than we have been of late, so a shortlist already being drawn up fits that professionalism I'm expecting.
Whosthedado 1,839
For me BF would need to win the EL to even be considered. He wont do that and I havent a clue who else it might be so......................

You’re the only one who knows about all the obscure guys at Ulan Bator Wanderers and the like. The rest of us can only think of Barry or José. To be fair you have made a pretty realistic list and other than them its difficult to come up with names. Its a tricky one to come up with names who jump out. 13 minutes ago, Whosthedado said: For me BF would need to win the EL to even be considered. He wont do that and I havent a clue who else it might be so...................... Perhaps a runner up or a close semi final exit but he'd also need to be impressive in the last 7 games in the league. He may put all eggs into the European basket but the bread and butter (a lot of dairy being mentioned here) is the league. There is no doubt the Europa is an aim and the players are also enjoying the ride but that journey ends soon and we need a winning team from the first ball being kicked next season. The players are capable, the recent OF and Euro games show they are better overall than the current league point tally. My fear about BF is if he got the job full time he changes and becomes a dictator type which will lose the dressing room straight away.
der Berliner 4,107
Barry has inherited a nearly non-operative team and whipped them into action. We are still quality-depth wise the worst in recent years, with loads of injuries and trained in a non-functional tactic. It remains to be seen whether he could be someone doing the trick with more players of his choice and the quality needed. "Remains to be seen" is the key here. We don't want or need another "project". Both in the league and even Europe, we have shown that we can play our part. Despite the lack of players, we might have done much more in the domestic cups and the title race, if we had not suffered that many injuries, and, more importantly, hadn't stuck to a tactic that simply isn't suited to the game in Scotland. Is it now four or five "managers" who wasted half a season on the latter, didn't get it and suffered the consequences? Much like we did? That's what I mean with "projects" not needed. I would assume that Barry and his coaches know what is required and needed in terms of staff and tactics ... for the Scottish game. So if given a handsome budget, I'd trust them to get people needed to succeed where we require it most. Europe has been a bonus and dragged us out of the mire after yet another dire season at home. Europe has likewise been a phenomenon. I have just seen third tier Arminia Bielefeld kicking out Bayer Leverkusen (the reigning champions and cupholders) in the semi-finals of the German Cup. Unlikely as it may be, sky's the limit. And quite often, the sky is Blue ...

I was, however, young and stupid in those days and decided to carry on the evening drinking with my pals instead of staying in said bar, and seeing where the night would take me. What a fool I was. 😞

Mate, I don't care enough about other football anymore to even know who's good out there and who isn't. Fair play to anybody that still loves football enough to keep tabs on everything else. I only care about us these days.

Uilleam 6,330
Basque coaches are enjoying more than a moment in the sun, so I would propose a Basque, non-staunch, and who embraces a philosophy of post-hipsterism. I can't spell these non Indo-European names, but you know who I mean
