Who should be the new manager?

Wasn't that impressed by Marsch, but don't know anything about Henriksen, Nancy, Rohl and Rystrom so interesting to hear their names being thrown into the mix.

Yes, I get it. Marsch did well at Salzburg, which I would say is a somewhat similar situation to us in our league. He also has a recognisable style of play (Red Bull), and he's American. He's not been wildly successful since - I think Canada are doing well, though.

Rydstrom is the Malmo manager. Has won everything - although they are the dominant side in their league. We did pump them, but he has an interesting philosophy, having adopted the relationist style.

Nancy has done well in the MLS with a positional style.

Rohl has done a good job at Wednesday. He has a high press, German style of play.

You'll notice my immediate concern with these names is style of play... :D

I’d like it to be someone who’s philosophy is attacking football I don’t care if we lose three goals as long as we score four

He insisted on playing out from the back and it cost them goals very frequently. He seemed to refuse to change from that.

As for Mourinho, surely he was just saying what most of our support were saying about  Clement?

He covered it on MNF. It was individual errors (new 'keeper or players having stage freight, so to speak), or going against his instructions.

He tweaked things quite often - like inverting a full-back to help keep the ball against a good pressing side.

He believes the best chance of winning is to keep the ball. His teams ranked quite highly in that regard, even in the Premier League.

It's funny that we don't criticise teams that park the bus (a Mourinho philosophy, ironically) for refusing to change.

If this takeover works out, and we get the debt sorted and have a decent budget for players, I'd rather have Clement than Mourinho. I stand by my assertion that PC was the right guy at the wrong time.

Mourinho is a soundbite manager now, the press demand it from him, he always delivers. As Rousseau rightly says, he's just been owned by BF, managing a bunch of players that even our own fans don't think are good enough.

I wasn't suggesting Mourinho for manager. Just quoting him. :)
