Born early 80's and Cooper was my first Rangers hero.

I don’t know if I told use this but coopers cousins son regularly comes out to my location and changes my tires, He says cooper always loved playing at Ibrox and most importantly loved playing in front of the fans. Thanks I’ll watch it later on 👍

I remember getting home after a school trip, a week up at Loch Tay. To find out the news that Cooper had signed. I was elated, he was the type of player I wanted to join Rangers. 

 

My Dad had kept me the papers so I could read up on it. Can't believe it is 30 years since his passing.

 

 

Nearly 8 years after he had signed for Rangers, instead of a school trip, I was on a NATO exercise as a marine. Hence, without news of what was going down in the world.

 

The exercise finished and we eventually found out that a few days earlier, Cooper had scored the penalty that qualified Scotland for a WC play off and Jock Stein had died

 

Great player !

Loved watching him play.

Genius with a football when he matured or maybe in his younger day the platform he was on wasn’t as solid as it became. In a team game artists need labourers for the mundane tasks.

Messi Cooper puskas you name them all these great players have one thing in common balance perfect balance I seen him playing for the bankies and he had star quality even then .

Me too used to meet my cousins and go and duck under entry so we could buy our macarroon bars but that changed in the days when Cooper playedwe then payed at more modern turnstiles.
