[FT] Celtic 2 - 3 Rangers (Raskin 4, Diomande 37; Igamane 88)

Recommended Posts

A concerned denizen of the east end  was on a radio phone-in. His view was that Cerny should/would  be arrested tonight, as there were women in the crowd and they could have had a heart attacks. True, apparently.

Here is the inside track on the 'incident':

Big Ig scored a wonder goal. Barry Ferguson, while celebrating, turned, and saw the crowd in the pen behind the dugout.

He said, 'Christ, what a fuckin' shower!'

Vaclav Cerny (there's a clue in the name), being Czech, misunderstood.

The rest is now folklore.

I note Police Scotland have taken half-a-dozen statements reference possible "assault".

Detective Chief Inspector Jim Taggart has already been quoted, "theres been a soaking, a dead bad soaking".

Listening to Brendas comments after the game, he's sounding like he did when Gerrard had his number.

BF is carrying on the good work in this fixture that PC did, I firmly believe PC had him worked out, and was it not for awful decisions, would've had a great recent record in the fixture.

He mentioned the 3 zip game, and the cup finals too, he's all too aware he was as lucky as his dentist.

BF has done his prospects no harm whatsoever in getting the job full time. A Rangers manager needs to beat the yahoos home and away. Only Gerrard did that in recent times

Interestingly that’s the third game in a row weve scored 3 goals against them. Can’t remember when that last happened.
BF has made changes to the team which has brought better results. We’re no longer getting outnumbered middle of the park with just 2 MF players. And the return of Souttar has helped last few games. Let’s hope he can stay injury free.

Be interesting to see how they react to that defeat today. They recruited a lot last summer paying big fees for some players. Rumours of discontent about some players unhappy at the salaries the new signings were getting. Kyogo one of them who left. He was a menace in these games. Glad he’s gone. Hopefully maeda and hatate follow him out the door in the summer. 😎

I mentioned this about being outnumbered in midfield so often 3 on 2 before the game, it was glaringly obvious it was the downfall in defeats. And when I saw their kind of unfamiliar line up I felt we had a chance - and was going to state no Kyogo is another factor.

Last 3 matches against them has an aggregate of Rangers 9-5 Celtic, so perhaps a slight tilt now in our favour - its against the rest of the league where we have lost it.

I know this will get shot down, but our best 11 beats their best 11 all day long right now.  Our problem is that our best 11 is literally all we have, whereas they have a good core of 16 or more that have an argument about being in the best 11.  We need a few more that challenge our 11.  But more importantly, we need to beat the rest of the shite.  Beating the filth is nice, but I’d accept the occasional slip up against them for more shiny things.
