Glad we are through for the cash in the next round but lets not kid ourselves that was absolutely terrible. We made that team look like world beaters , tactics were all wrong , we should have had a right go at them instead of trying to go through on the first game result.

Had we not won the pens that whole team would have been slaughtered and rightfully so.

Jose was always going to dig deep and get a performance out of his team. As soon as Cerny had the ball he had 3 players on him straight away which prevented us creating more.

As for being terrible - I suppose you may have a point (without putting a downer on going through) that we have to remember that is 4 home defeats in a row and that needs to be addressed. Im not sure when that last happened.

We all seen how bad they were defensively , thats why we should have went for them at the start for the early goal. Tactics like that were always going to have us in danger for the whole match. If we had lost theres not a chance Fenerbace were going any further.

As for the 4 home losses , its never happened before.

Really pleased with that result last night. Yes, we didn't play well for periods but Fener are a decent side who will cause most teams problems. FWIW, their keeper had a few good saves as well so it wasn't all one-sided. Onto Athletic Club and a Bilbao travel trial run....?

Last night didn't really tell us anything we didn't know. We lack genuine quality and depth in key areas resulting in a nervousness on the ball that isn't conductive to achieving consistent success. A squad overhaul is required and we can only hope a takeover helps finance that.

A 'squad overhaul' suggests a squad clear out.

I don't think we need a clear out - other than the few that have contracts ending.

We just need to start improving the team with quality additions.

This is still the rebuild we started in the summer.

Let's face it we are punching well above our weight.  One thing I was delighted with was that we hung in there against a very sytrong, physical team and we showed resilience which is something we've been lacking.  The stats on the BBC last night showed that we pretty much matched them and although it wasn't our best performance it was far from our worst and I will take it and celebrate it.

I think we do. We have few that I'd consider capable of bringing about success and, those that are, will probably be moved out on of necessity (e.g. Cerny loan ending or others to help finance another rebuild).
