A great attacking option but he occupied a slot usually reserved for a defender. Butland had a good season and still produces magnificent reaction saves but I’d prefer a competent tradesman ‘keeper. Balogun and Sterling can perform when fit but rarely are. None of the rest on the list has done anything of note. When fit (no snickering!) he's one our best if not the best defender we have! NB: all we can hope for is that those with prospective buyers will show their strengths in our European games, so someone happens by and offers money. He looked okay in the few games he played the got injured. Then we took him on loan again, this time with the obligation. I'd put Butland, Propper and Yilmaz in the shop window. Possibly Sterling if he can't get fit. Hopefully Cifuentes and Matondo get picked up after their loans. I wouldn't release them. I'd try to renegotiate the Cortes deal. The rest are fine. I'm actually happy with the squad. It's down to bare bones now after getting rid of most of the high wage earners and injury prone. It's basically filled with young prospects, and solid performers. I never seen anything in the guy that would have made me say we need to buy this guy for 4m , it was utter madness , thats even before you start on the injuries. We had Hagi out with a career ending injury and they extended his contract ! The warning signs on Clement were all there to see as well and we extended his contract. Igamane has went off the boil a bit but hes the only one in that squad I would persevere with , the rest could leave any time.
