Official: Clement sacked | Ferguson appointed interim head coach

I am very much enjoying the fallout from the appointment(s).

You get what you deserve.

Seriously - it couldn't have been a permanent appointment given the off-field situation, so who else would be an interim for a couple of months?

I don't see why not, particularly if the Yanqi have been, at least, consulted.

The reason that a temporary answer (not, note, solution) is required is because there was no plan B - that is, presumably, beyond selling up.

Most concerning, in any event, is what happens when/if the deal bites the dust?

A 'temporary' coaching team in situ, none of whom has had  a successful management career, and none of whom have worked together in a coaching capacity, does not inspire confidence.

'Fans' in the Boardroom, ffs!!

Don't forget Boab Malcolm, former assistant to Barry.

He could be Chief Shouter of uncouth 'encouragement' and available for a square-go, at training or in the dressing room.

Can't have Barry getting his brogues dirty

At least we now know that Patrick is a CEO with his finger on the pulse 🫣

A vegetarian? Ffs!! When the players, clearly, have to be fed on raw meat, that's all we need.

I just don't really get the logic. A coach from within, aye fine, makes sense.

A young coach that's done well elsewhere and for whatever reason is available, yup, come hold the torch for a few months.

But an ex player that's never really been anywhere near the club in terms of coaching or the likes?.

Makes zero sense.

There's lots of candidates out there. Are you saying that if another SPL club or a Championship club in England were looking for a temporary manager they couldn't come up with a better solution than an ex-Alloa manager who's been out of work for 3 years?

A temp for two months? No. It's generally club men that are appointed - often with even less experience than Barry's 8 years (iirc?) in management.

Your speculation shows a lack of foresight...

I don't know how you can blame anyone for wanting him gone. The season has been an unmitigated disaster domestically. Clement had understandably completely lost the stands and the dressing room. As long as he was in post, the board couldn’t really conduct a proper search for a replacement, and keeping him after deciding he'd go at the end of the season wouldn’t have been good either.

Do you spend a large part of your life muttering,

"Well, who would have thought that would have happened?"
