Official: Clement sacked | Ferguson appointed interim head coach

I don't know how you can blame anyone for wanting him gone. The season has been an unmitigated disaster domestically. Clement had understandably completely lost the stands and the dressing room. As long as he was in post, the board could really conduct a proper search for a replacement, and keeping him after deciding he'd go at the end of the season wouldn’t have been good either.

I wanted him gone myself - at the end of the season.

As outlined elsewhere, we're in the middle of a takeover, we're searching for a DoF and we're conducting a club review.

It doesn't make sense, to me, to appoint a permanent manager now, so keeping PC around was a necessary evil.

The alternative is Barry Ferguson.

... too bad he didn't do the same as a manager. Then again, the support from the board was sort of lacking, IIRC.

1 single trophy in almost 4 years and constant sackings since tells you all you need to know about the guy.

Conducting the search for a new manager with Clement in place could have been disastrous though. He already looked like he had lost the fight, and it’s a bit humiliating. I think their hand was forced.

Kilmarnock, Motherwell,  Ferenbache twice and Celtic we will probably lose three of these games and let’s say we drop points against Killie and Motherwell do we stick with Ferguson and his deputies.

would have been better sending for big Sam until the seasons end .

Possibly. It's just my opinion. I'd prefer PC to Barry Ferguson.

Doesnt matter how any of them go , they are here till the end of the season.

If they win every league game and get to the eufa final its a stick on they will be offered the job.

Like I said above, different clubs & players, different demands, different backing, and opposition. I don't advocate for him, but it is not as easy as it seems.

As it happens, today's Sir Walter's birthday.
