Jesus wept. Just checked my phone for the first time today and this news is what greets me. Utterly depressing. Billy f*cking Dodds? I'd rather Clement had stayed.

On the two occasions I have spoken to Barry, a long long time ago. I came away thinking that his arrogance ( not necessarily the bad kind ) masked a lot of what looks to me like immaturity. Now again, this was a long time ago. But I am curious as to how much more mature he is as a person.

I have absolutely no doubt he's bursting with pride and will give it all he has, but what is it he has exactly as a manager? We know Barry the player had standards and would frequently drag squads to his level if he had to. But if Barry is the answer what is the question? 

This has the same sort of smell as Newcastle throwing Shearer into the dugout. 

Rangers and Barry need more than chest thumping to get us to the summer. I'm disappointed but not surprised. I agree with the earlier sentiment shared on this thread that we have ceased to be a serious football club. 

We let out a rallying call and its McCann and Dodds who show up? 

Sign the dotted line and sell our souls to the Americans if this is how we're going to behave.

I now can't get too excited about McCann calling Morelos an idiot for his goal celebration on one occasion. Many on here have called him far worse. He shouldn't have done it, but a one-off comment at a player that many find frustrating isn't a hanging offence.

On the one hand, Ferguson coming in could be seen as getting back some of the passion and playing for the jersey that has been sadly lacking of late... However we've gone down the ex-player\hero route in the not so distant past, I'm sure Ally can offer a cautionary tale regarding such a course of action...  I do hope Barry fares better than Ally did, but I fear we're in for a repeat performance.

That being said, with all the upheaval around investment, takeover, DOF, etc I don't think there would have been too many queueing up for a short term gig.

Seriously - it couldn't have been a permanent appointment given the off-field situation, so who else would be an interim for a couple of months?
