Yes and it also shows how misleading those stats are ref. Dessers - where would we be without his goals?

How are they misleading?

It's not measuring his goals. It's only measuring progressive carries and passes.

He's 5th in terms of carrying the ball, which is not bad at all.

I was merely trying to illustrate who gets the ball forward for us.

I know. I just meant those stats suggest he doesn't do much in terms of creating.

Which is true, isn't it? He doesn't do much, other than score. It's not a criticism, per se.

However, like I said elsewhere, it's not measuring creativity. It's only measuring how players move the ball forward. So it's not misleading at all.

I initially made the graph because I wanted to compare Barron with Raskin, and Souttar with Propper. In my head Raskin was more of the passer, with Barron more of the carrier; and I thought Souttar liked to run with the ball, with Propper making those long diagonals. The data - at least in the European games - shows that Barron and Raskin do similar things (It doesn't mean Barron is as good as Raskin, that's certainly not true), and Propper and Souttar do similar things.

I wish I had the league data as I think it would be interesting to see what Hagi and Nsiala do on the ball.

Here's the goals and assist data, from all competitions.

We've got the main creators, Tavernier and Hagi (and Diomande), and the main scorers, Igamane, Cerny and Dessers.

It's disappointing that we don't have anyone that can do both, other than Cerny, just. I think Danilo would be in that top-right quadrant if he could play more (he has played around 10 games fewer than everyone else).

No Jefte - well, he'll be one of the unnamed points that don't do either.

I think this is where we need to be realistic about Jefte. He was a 500k signing, 20 year old from Brazil who played half a season of first team football in Cyprus before he came here.

I'd say he has exceeded expectations so far. He just hasn't been able to put it all together. But we need to get used to having guys like this in the team. Its where we are at. He is here for what he can be, not what he is now.

When I see Jefte I'm thinking about pre-leg break Alan Hutton. A raw player who had pace and running power, but was naïve defensively and didn't have a cutting edge going forward.

Not sure exactly at what age, when or where it kicked in with Hutton, but it seemed like almost overnight he found the final ball, killer instinct and physicality that made him from a backup right back into a £10 million EPL premiership player. He was unplayable for a good 6 months before he left.

I'm hoping that's what we see with Jefte.

If we don't and he doesn't improve then at worst we have had 4 years of a low wage squad player who cost 500k.

I wasn't judging.

He's only 20.

Can anyone tell me what was the point of bringing in Fernandes on loan for 5 months and not even have him in the squad as backup defender given how thin on the ground we are there? Surely we don’t need him to play St Mirren etc? When money is extremely tight this seems like a huge waste.

He should have been in the squad instead of the utterly useless Tom Lawrence.

Ditto this two posts, form and fitness should have been the priority.

Happy with Hagi and Nsiala coming in but Danilo (who I like) is another who's injury record is bad. With Souttar, Balogan and Sterling all being out of late another defender in Fernandes would have been the sensible option for me. But if the 3 mentioned are fit for the remainder of the journey then it will prove correct.
