West London Bear 14 Posted Sunday at 19:42 Share Posted Sunday at 19:42 I was driving back from Belgium, so listening to the game on the radio. At half time we brought on Rice, but why not Nsio and Curtis and Fernandez, the game was won. All County wanted was a low score. We need to know if these boys are for keeping. Today was the day for a few experiments. What did we learn bringing on Lawrence and Bajrami? Maybe I missed something in not seeing it live.

Maybe Big Phil intended to bring on more youngsters, but when he subbed Rice on for Diomande there was a definite drop in intensity/tempo. That's just my thoughts on it.
Bluedell 5,816 Posted Monday at 05:01 Share Posted Monday at 05:01 He obviously brought on Fernandez later on. My guess was that Lawrence was being put in the shop window to show that he's got enough to play first team football to any potential buyers. I would agree that he could have brought on Curtis but maybe he wanted to keep Bajrami sweet. He knows the players and how to keep them enthused.

We did well enough still, as compared to other games, and while he had two decent attempts on target, I would have had Price for Igamane and McCausland for Cerny too, and sure no Lawrence. The latter was probably put out there to show anyone that he's fit. These young lads want to prove themselves and in games where the momentum is lost, you need this enthusiasm. Too bad that we only started using two strikers - and hence start winning games - this late and thus robbed the youngsters the opportunities.
