Baffling when you actually think of what Dessers does work rate wise.

The injuries and lack of key personnel meant we were really up against it but we reacted well to losing an awful opener. Tav and Raskin had fine games, as did Butland (howler aside) and Rice can be happy with his shift too. There are positives but squad improvements essential.

I'm gutted but not devastated. Playing Man Utd with a full squad would have been hard enough but playing them without 7 potential starters was a very tall order. 7 became 10 players missing in the second half which made it impossible. Our goalie gifting them the first goal didn't help either. At least we gave it a go and some young players got decent experience. Hopefully the injuries are not long term.

Disappointing in the end but no disgrace. A good performance against a team costing hundreds of millions.

I think PC might need to look at the GK position sooner rather than later.
