Former Scotland, Manchester United and Manchester City striker Denis Law - the only Scottish player to have won the Ballon d'Or - has died at the age of 84.

Seen him many a time in the days I supported Scotland a joy to watch,he seemed to "hover" in the air whilst heading,

Now with the sad news I can only say RIP it was an honour to have warched you.

One of the best footballers I ever saw and that includes many of the greatest names home and abroad. And he did appear to hang in the air for headers. I wonder if that’s because he jumped higher than the descending trajectory of the ball so that he was on the way down rather than up when he hit it.

In the past quite a few have said he was the best Scottish striker of all time surpassing Dalglish.

That was Reilly.

 

Law, like Dalglish, was more than a striker. Classic attacking inside forward.
