The club, the board and the future

But the accounts show we are still spending too much, they can't control it. How much did we give the manager in the summer and what did we bring in?

They have overseen two projects that spiralled out of control and lied to the fanbase hours before having to go public about Ibrox not being ready.

NEH was a vanity project that cosy circa £12M. That's £12M we didn't have.

The work to the CR stand was long overdue and they have to be congratulated for doing this, but are due criticism for the handling of the project and the fallout from it.

Change is vague and we've had our fingers burned in the past, but if we are to move forward we have to seek, find and get behind change / investment. And when I say we, I mean the board.

They're trying to reduce our spending while growing revenue. It's basic but necessary.

I'm not afraid of change, I just don't see where the sort of change you desire comes from. If it appears I'll get behind it.

Until then I'd rather see us become sustainable.

A separate thread, so we can howl to our heart's content!

It's pointless - there are two trains of thoughts and they'll never agree.

Doesn't help the posters misquote, misrepresent, and throw insults around.

It's also pointless in that nobody here can influence what happens.

It appears the majority of the fans think sticking with this board is all we can do, so I'll keep my thoughts on them to myself in future.

It's a forum - we're here to discuss.

I think we'll agree when that change you desire materialises. It will happen eventually: Clement will lose his job and the board will be replaced, eventually.

So you can't see simplistic ideas like selling the naming rites to Ibrox happening?

My desire is for the board to hand over thre running of the club to people who know what they are doing.

The board can do that by appointing the correct people (they don't have a good record there), they can find some external investment or they can hand the club over to new shareholders.

There's 3 options from a moknhowling fan.

I don't mind selling naming rights, personally, but I think there will be a lot of pushback from fans.

I understand; I just don't see it happening. For all their flaws, they are fans, they do care, so they won't relinquish control to any Tom, Dick or Harry.

With a new CEO and Chairman, hopefully we see better decision-making.

So some fans will complain? They are going to have to make tough decisions but decisions that will generate much needed income will be welcomed by the majority of fans. No?

They are fans and I'll be bold enough to say that this is part of their problem. They need to detach themselves from the emotion of being fans.

Decisions need to be made with financial heads on, not fans heads.

It may need to be done - I'm just saying I think there would be quite a bit of pushback with Ibrox naming rights.

Fair point.

Revenues have been growing.
