The club, the board and the future

Rangers wouldn't last a season if we became fan (groups) owned. Generally and collectively speaking, they are worth a case study to find out why it is so bad.

Given the ease with which an organised minority can work the fans I expect it would actually be much the same as it is now.

If they raised season tickets by say £100 a head that only brings in around £4 million not a lot in football terms but would you be happy giving Clement money to spend

This is a great idea.

In addition to that we could all buy an extra five scotch pies at half time.

If the fans really love Rangers then we'll have enough for a centre back in the summer.

Best way is to cut the exorbitant wage bill. And by that I mean the non-playing staff roles also. Anyone heard anything from the new communications guy yet?

It should be football people doing the review, not a company.

However. I thought the whole point of appointing someone like Patrick Stewart was to have someone with the skills and experience themselves who can identify areas of improvement and implement changes and course correct as appropriate.

How much is this external review costing?  Hopefully its not a deloitte / KPMG etc

I thought that I read it was footballing people that Stewart was bringing in to conduct the review?

The reason we have won so little is that when Celtic were in the financial grubber, they built foundations (eg. 60K stadium) and went the right way about becoming sustainable. They had the right people in charge to bring it to fruition.

That is what we need to do now or we will live, mostly in their shadow.

I believe very much in the right to protest and saw Sir Duped, Whyte and Green for what they were (the latter two prior to them arriving at Ibrox). However, I don't agree with the UB in this particular case.

We need to give Patrick Stewart a chance.

I'm sceptical as to what the club will achieve in the short to medium term. I think there will be more relatively barron seasons to come.

When Celtic were in the grubber their fans united to oust the board who were holding them back. This didn't happen overnight, but the fans stuck together and forced change.

When McCann took over he wasn't universally liked in the East End as he talked about ending bigotry etc.

He stabilised them and the rest is history.

The Celtic fans don't particularly like Lawwell and his Tory pals either but I suppose when you've won 13 out the last 14 league titles, have circa £70M in the bank and have a working player trading model, it smooths the criticism a bit

Regards the rhebels ousting the board. They had  real alternatives. The current protests at Ibrox, don't.

McCann and Lawwell were who they required. The work required wasn't going to win popularity contests with their support but they were hard nosed businessmen with brains and cojones.

The last thing we needed was Patrick Stewart to bow to the will of the protesters, against his better judgement.

They still hate Lawwell.

When it started, they didn't.  It was Dempsy and his dream of moving to a heap in Cambuslang.

Was it not the Club’s Bank that brought that about?  What would have happened if McCann had decided he’d rather have an ice hockey team?
