[FT] Hibernian 3 - 3 Rangers (Igamane 4, 19, 74)

Mr Stewart, kick the dressing room door down and tell Mr Clement to get back to Glasgow and clear his desk.

Let's hear the latest excuses for throwing away a game and more points on the road.

The old story: we can't deal with a side that presses with vim and vigour. Ally that with a dodgy, dodgy defence, and you can see why we struggle

The galling thing is that one knows, just knows, that the Leith tramps will not play with such determination and energy against Nonce FC.

A tired end to a game where our defensive weaknesses were all too obvious and will worsen with an injury to Sterling and Propper now also suspended. A new central defender in the next few days now becomes essential. Very disappointing to drop more points but nothing new there...

There are two options for me - either

1. The players aren't good enough to beat Hibs, St Mirren, Motherwell, Dundee Utd

Or

2. They aren't deployed in a style to defeat the above.

After watching games in Europe and Thursdays OF game, it has to be option 2.

There simply isn't any other explanation.

Still at a loss why we play 9 games in a month were we had none before.

Tough weather condition, tough opponents, and ravaged by injuries. I might have taken a point before the game, given Hibs' recent form.

Yet, after watching it, two points were thrown away, mainly by giving the ball away with silly short or displaced passes, and overdoing it in their penalty area. oh so unnecessary. They played rather open, so where there for the taking, but from the 30th minute onwards, we executed it not often and/or well enough. The project tumbles on.

Because they wouldn't let them - they'd have won 4 or 5 -0 today

I think the defensive issues are pretty clear: we're down to bare bones, but even our best are not great in the air. That needs to change if we are to deal with what we saw from Hibs. Our defence has still been decent enough.

Offensively, we have a good group that can be excellent in transitions - as we saw in the first 25 minutes today and in Europe - but don't have the guile - or set-up - to break down a low block. A new coach could solve it, but I don't see that happening, so a couple of signings is the only solution.
