We started were we left off on Thursday but after our second goal we seemed to switch off in all departments when we should have been going all out for more goals.

Yes, we need wealthy investors, which isn't impossible, but unlikely. What may seem even more unlikely is getting out of the hell hole that is the SPL. The EPL is a pipe dream, but I still hold out hope for some Atlantic league set up with Dutch, Belgian, Scanda teams. At the end of the day, there is no miracle cure within our reach right now.

 

Our best hope is some sort of massive downturn in form from our rivals similar to lennon's last season coupled with a consistent run by ourselves. Then, not have the board make the same mistake by sitting on their arses, patting themselves on the back - and instead building strongly on the success. 

 

I'm backing Clement and Koppen for now, if we can continue to strengthen certain positions, we should be able to improve and stay consistent. We're starting to see a decent foundation emerge with a few players that are very promising, but they can't do it all on their own. 

 

The domestic season is over, so pre-season starts now. And we have Europa nights to keep us going. 

 

Keep the faith, as little as there is.

If all we want is for the board to be "keeping the lights on", then it's game over.

 

They are "keeping the lights on" simply because of THEIR gross mismanagement (continued).

 

We have record income, have been to CL group stages, have record season ticket money, have record merchandise income, EL Final run, £50M transfer income for Bassey, Patterson, Aribo, Sakala, Kamara yet are still millions in debt.

 

With the above, if the current incumbents can still post losses year on year, they need replaced. 

 

How that is achieved is above mine (and your pay grade). We are mere fans (and shareholders) as you keep reminding us.

 

However, the status quo simply can't continue ot it'll all end in tears.

 

Believe it or not, part of their responsibilities are to ensure income equals or betters ongoing. Their doing a great job there eh. .....  

We wanted Murray replaced and ended up with Whyte and Green. The "replace them" message isn't helpful when the likelihood is replacing them with someone worse for the club and is not interested in "keeping the lights on".

 

Keeping the lights on is a fairly major point and the alternatives are to sell players and vastly reduce the wage bill and therefore the squad quality, which is the easy answer and may end up having to be the solution as you are correct in that it can't go on indefinitely, but kudos to the board for delaying the inevitable as long as they can. 

 

Yes, we all want better players on the park and better in the board room but we don't have any quick fixes.

 

In terms of external debt we owed around £3m to Premier Division Support Fund and under £1m to a bank.

 

Just asking for a replacement board, who would probably be worse for our club and may end up selling players or selling the ground, is dangerous. Be careful what you wish for.
