Isn’t this just an example of why having one player score all your team’s goals doesn’t always mean success, especially if that player isn’t contributing much else to the overall team performance? Just need to take a look at 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th place.

That's exactly what it is. 

 

Dessers isn't the main issue.  Dessers being the only player who scores regularly is the main issue.

Dessers appears to be less engaged of late. Hardly surprising given the stick he comes in for when giving his all (albeit limited).

 

January exit might suit all concerned. Whether the numbers do is something else.

 

Will probably come off the bench today. Certainly due a goal.
