has regressed under Clement (and he's not alone there).

Could say that covers most of the players and team. We were kidding ourselves - me included - that we had turned a corner.

We have not. We are are a Raskin injury away from finishing 3rd to a mediocre Aberdeen team

I don't know who he is, but it's hard to disagree with what he says.

We have a 37% win rate away from home in the league this season, lost half of those games, joint 2nd lowest goals scored away from home.

Dropped 16 points so far this season (only dropped 3 thus far to Celtic),  12 points behind and its only Boxing Day.

How low must we go before he is removed?

I don’t think it’s difficult. We downsized in the summer, as long as we are second, fighting for silverware and doing ok in Europe he will see out the season. This season was written off long before a ball was kicked by our board because they prioritised the reduction in costs on the playing staff wage bill. It’s why the manager got a new contract.

Anyone wetting the bed about him still being here just hasn’t been paying attention.

And I’m not making excuses for the manager here, I think his record in the transfer market hasn’t been great, his team selections baffling. His set pieces are abysmal, some of the stuff he comes out with is laughable. There are massive question marks over him for me personally.

But I’m not a decision maker at the club, nor are you or wee guy mods from football forums full of Tims.

That's the issue most of us have. The slight flicker of light and its a new dawn but in reality, its just a slight flicker.

That's what happens when we have been so poor since Gerrard left and are desperate for a reversal of fortunes.

The reality is we are now worse than at any time since Pedro, maybe even including Pedro.

We can pin our hopes on Clement, the "project" but it'll be false hope. We need significant change both on and off the field before our fortunes change for the better.

Many have now accepted the notion that we can't compete domestically, that being 2nd is something to celebrate.

Clement has had enough time to improve us but instead he's making us worse.

We'll hear the usual excuses for not sacking him, he'll stay and we'll finish 20 points behind Celtic

That was dreadful.  Too many of these people do not have the ability/bottle to play for our club.  The team selection, tactics and subs dubious once again (excluding the 2 at half time).  What the hell happened to Tav and Cerny today?  We needed them and we don't have adequate subs.  We are a mess.

Wouldn’t disagree but there’s no quick fix

That game tonight didn’t had a Rangers team that played with not a bit of footballing skill they all looked totally inept and that must lie at the door of the manager at one point he was standing with his head out as if he was trying to stop a bus next to him was the other manager bawling instructions to his players

There is no reason for him NOT to be sacked though.

Downsizing isn't an excuse for losing 16 points this season. Nor is it an excuse for losing half our away games and being the 2nd lowest scorers away from home.

Writing the season off doesn't or shouldn't excuse the above either.

How does he magically turn it around next season, or the season after?

2nd best for the best part of the last 15 years, and likely to be 2nd best for the next 5-10 years unless something dramatic happens at our club.

Having a manager who can beat the rest on a regular basis would be a start.

We shouldn't be dropping 13 points to teams outwith Celtic. The reality is we have and the manager needs to take responsibility for that.

Would another manager have done better with this group of players?you need to take a reality check, some of the current squad are very mediocre. Look at LB tonight. The one who came on was worse than the one who got subbed.

By all means sack him but just make sure his replacement will do better. We screwed up big style 2 years ago sacking GVB and replacing him with Beale

That's the board's job to identify a better manager. Any decent manager should be able to get these players to beat St Mirren.

We did, just another appointment in a long line of incorrect appointments, which now includes Clement.
