Any decent manager should be able to have us close to Celtic. Accepting and excusing being 12 points adrift at Christmas and dropping 16 points, that's living in fairyland. I thought we'd end up coming through yesterday, I was wrong over the 90 minutes. It happens! Fairyland is the place you occupy. A place where you ignore what has been going on for years and expect significant positive change. The club needs to lay foundations off the park, if it pretends to have any consistent success on it. We can spend money we don't have looking for short term improvements but the chances of making it to medium term would be slim because of the financials. You can expect what you want. Bit like a young kid going into a toy shop with 50p to spend.

I think this has been lost on much of the support. Many still expect us to be competitive just because we are Rangers. They forgot about the work that needs to be done on and off the park to facilitate that. Definitely the board are guilty of this.

They are and it's the board that have gotten us where we are. They are solely to blame and only they can fix this. Given their recent decision making, it's hard to see how they will do this. That means more years of gross mismanagement. However, that doesn't excuse or detract from the fact that the manager is out of his depth. If the only reason the board are keeping him in the job is to deflect criticism from them, then it's further evidence that they are not fit for purpose.
compo 7,612
the manager is not up to the task I think that if he was put in charge today of any top half team in the premiership they would be relegated come May the new CEO will deal with it after the Celtic game if not then we have appointed another puppet .

Bit like a young kid going into a toy shop with 50p to spend. We don't need to spend money for short-term improvements, we just need a coach who can coach the players in a system that will consistently win games and improve their fitness. Where have I ignored what's gone on in the past? The board have missmanged the club for years, that's as obvious to all who support Rangers. This mismanagement is both in recruitment and financial. The blame for where we are lies firmly at the door of the board. We can separate what is required "team wise" short-term from what is required "financially" medium to long-term. The board have once again chosen the incorrect manager (they have gotten 1 out of 5 correct since we got back into the SPL. They have also squandered untold millions on players, managers, other staff in those years as well as making some very costly financial mistakes. Given that, are we to expect them to suddenly start getting things correct? What signs are we seeing that we are getting better on and off the pitch? We are a mess from top to bottom and it's getting worse by the day. If I'm living in fairyland, you've got your head buried in the sand and are delusional if you believe the current incumbents (manager and board) are going to make us a force again.
compo 7,612
First thing needing sorted is the defence as we have little money then any money spent should be on the defence we have three full backs who cant defend and we need a couple of players to fill the centre half positionhe may have to try some square pegs in round holes until we find some decent money to buy a decent player .
