On a Tuesday night in the week before Christmas more than six hundred turned up at Borough Briggs to see Elgin City beat the Clyde 4-2 among them this absolute hero. Where did he come from? I doubt it was Bridgeton. Where do Clyde get their followers from these days?

Are Clyde not in Hamilton now? 
 

I remember ES Clydebank what’s more I remember East Stirlingshire. I was at one of their last games in the league against the Hibs at Easter Road. ‘Shire brought about ten fans with them. What a racket they made supporting their team but even more so protesting the theft of their Club.

Yes, you are right - the lease ran out at Broadwood. See on their website the plan is to return eventually to Glasgow. Would love to see Third Lanark, my grandfather's club, be resurrected.

The Shire had a great social club back in the day and were partial to a wee cultural evening every now and then.

 

Knew a few guys who played for them in mid-late 80s and went to see them a few times.

 

Shame what happened to them.

Agreed. The Thirds of Hilley, Harley and Gray were rattling good entertainment. Jocky Robertson is probably the shortest goalkeeper I’ve ever seen in too football. He had long arms, though.

My brother in law was a great fan of the Clyde home and away he’d go to watch them as for the thirds it was at Cathkin park were I seen my first ever Rangers game

My father was a Clyde fan, as a boy I would sometimes go with him to games, couple of good players they had were Harry Haddock and Tommy Ring. Shawfield had the best Bovril, individually made and salt & pepper available.

After my father died it took me 3 years to give his shares away!

Think i read somewhere that plans for building houses on the site of the old shawfield that's if king the bookmaker has sold the ground
